I have a couple of friends that will be having surgery in the next few weeks, so that got me thinking about "get well" cards.
Stampin' Up! has an adorable cup of soup stamp called "Get Well Soup" so I made a B-Line to my stamp room and made a quick card or two with it.
I knew that I wanted to use the copper emboss powder for the outline of the cup. You all know that I have an obsession with all of Stampin' Up's copper products.
I used the watercolor paper because I wanted to use my aqua painter to color in the mug. I pressed the lid of my soft sky and tempting turquiose inks into the actual pad by squeezing it while the ink pad was closed. This makes a nice puddle of ink on the lid where I can dip my aqua painter and do some water coloring.
Ohhh, look at that copper embossing and how it shimmers in the light. I also used the "Sweet and Sassy" framelits to cut the heart from the red glimmer paper and pop it on the mug with a dimensional. I love the tempting turquoise and real red together.
I fussy cut the outline of the cup and steam and attached it with dimensionals over one of our delicate doilies that I folded in half to give it more dimension.
Here's a close up of all the glimmer and shimmer.
If this card doesn't make someone feel better, I don't know what will!
I hope you give embossing and watercoloring a try. Its so easy and so pretty!
Until the next time...
