Creative Card Fold using the Cool Treats stamp set

Here's a "cool" creative card fold using the new stamp set, "Cool Treats." There are so many fun things to do with this set and its coordinating "Frozen Treats" framelits.

This card fold is called, Peek A Boo Gate Fold. It seems everyone is using this fold lately. So, I thought I would share this sugary sweet card with you using this card fold technique.

Here's the card...

IMG_3095

As you can see, there is a peek a boo gap in the middle of the card, to stamp the greeting.

The measurements of this card are:

Pool Party cardstock: 7 3/4" x 5 1/2"

Whisper White cardstock: 4" x 5 1/4" (inside piece)

and (2) strips of whisper white cut at: 1 1/2" x 5 1/4"

Tasty Treats designer paper: (2) pieces cut at: 1 1/4" x 5"

SCORING: laying it long edge in paper cutter- score at 1 3/4" and 6"

When you fold it up, you will have a peek a boo gap in the middle of the card.

Here's the inside view with darling cherries and colorful sprinkles.

IMG_3080

How cute is this tiny spoon die cut from silver foil paper?

Can you see how sweet this designer paper is? It has a clear gloss shine over the ice cream images. So, I added some shine to the cherry on the top of the sundae by squeezing a little fine tip glue pen over the cherry. It dries quickly and its not even sticky!

IMG_3098

I layered my sundae on a stitched circle framelit, from the Stitched Shapes framelit package. Did you know that Stampin Up sells about 20,000 framelits from any one framelit set during the course of a year, but has sold 20,000 of the Stitched Shape Framelits in its first two weeks on the market! To say this is an awesome framelit set is an understatement.

More Swan Lake using Watercoloring techniques

I have a couple more Swan Lake cards to show you today. I loved watercoloring this darling stamp set, which is from the Stampin Up Occasions Catalog.

I shared a Swan Lake card the other day, using the watercolor pencils and blender pens, which I did use on one of the cards that I'll show you here.

This card uses the new watercolor pencils from Stampin Up!

IMG_3269

We will do a very similar card at Kim's Card Class this coming week. I can't wait for all of you to use the new stamp set and the awesome watercolor pencils.

I used our tear tape to attach the pool party satin ribbon and silver sequin trim. The dragonflies were stamped in soft sky onto soft sky cardstock and I drew the trails with the Stampin Up journaling pen.

IMG_3270

It looks great from any angle :)

IMG_3268

This card was colored with the aqua painters dipped in ink refills. The splatter was made by splattering the aqua painter over the watercolor paper.

IMG_3274

I added a rhinestone to the middle of the cute Classy Designer button to give it a little sparkle.

IMG_3275

This makes such a darling thank you card for a wedding, or really any occasion.

IMG_3277

Here's a recap of all the Swan Lake cards including the one that I posted last week.

Such a great stamp set. I love creating with the darling images in this sweet stamp set.

Stampin Up Carousel Birthday- Watercolor -Emboss resist technique

As promised, here is the Carousel Birthday card that I posted on my Facebook and Instagram pages earlier this week.

I know it was a little teaser, as it was only a photo of a small section of the card.

The Carousel Birthday stamp set, is new in the Occasions Catalog. Some of the dies from the Up and Away thinlit set coordinate with this stamp set.

Here it is, all pretty in pink!

IMG_3335

Basically what I did with this card is a watercolor wash for the background. Using watercolor paper, an aquapainter and re-inkers, I dipped the aquapainter in a few drops of pink pirouette, then flirty flamingo and finally, melon mambo. I swished it across the water color paper using an ample amount of water from my aqua painter. Each color was painted on separately starting with the lightest color, working to the darkest.

IMG_3338

Once it dried.. ( I heated with my Stampin Up heat tool, to speed up the drying time) I embossed the ferris wheel with white embossing powder. This can actually be done before or after the watercoloring. I did emboss the horse first and then colored it in with the aqua painters and re-inkers.

IMG_3340

I used the Cupcakes and Carousels Embellishment kit to finish the card. The gorgeous ombre ribbon, iridescent sequins and darling tassel are some of the items in this kit. Oh my goodness, I am totally loving this kit!

I used smoky slate ink for the pole and greeting. The greeting actually comes from the Suite Sentiments stamp set in the Occasions Catalog.

IMG_3345

I love pink, so this card was such and enjoyable and relaxing card for me to create.

IMG_3339

I'm thinking this would look awesome in shades of blue or purple as well. Oh the possibilities!

Stampin Up: "Swan Lake" simplicity

I have a quick card to share with you today. Its made with the new Swan Lake stamp set from the Stampin Up Occasions Catalog 2017. I wanted to use watercoloring on this card, because its a great "outline" image to color.

Of course, I had to try out the brand new Stampin Up Watercolor Pencils. The pencils were so easy to use and I blended them out with our blender pens. So simple!

IMG_3271

All I did was stamp the images in basic black archival ink, then I outlined the images with the watercolor pencils. I then used the blender pen to pull the color from where I outlined the image to color in with. When using blender pens, be sure to clean the tip between colors by swiping it on your scratch paper until the tip comes clean.

IMG_3273

The great thing about the new Watercolor Pencils is that they coordinate with our exclusive Stampin Up colors! So, they match our cardstock, inks, ribbons, etc. So awesome!

For the water/sky, I simply scribbled across the cardstock to lay a bit of color down and then blended it out with the blender pens.

IMG_3272

I have more Swan Lake cards to show you- so be sure to stop back!

Until then...

Stampin Up Nailed It!

Nailed It is the perfect name for this manly stamp set in the new Occasions Catalog. It has a variety of tools, nuts, bolts and clever verses. This set also has a coordinating "Build It" framelit die set.

I'm always in need of a masculine card, so I was happy to see this awesome set in the new catalog.

I also used the manly "Urban Underground" designer paper on this card as well.

IMG_3306

The colors are crumb cake, delightful dijon, early espresso and very vanilla inks and cardstocks, as well as the gold foil paper.

I stamped the tools in early espresso ink, then die cut the tools with the "Build It" framelits. I used a crumb cake marker to outline the inside of the tools, then swiped over that with a blender pen. It gives the tools some great shading and depth.

IMG_3302

The gold foil paper looks so cool embossed with the new "Hexagons Dynamic Emboss Folder." Check out the awesome Urban Underground embellisments- they look like real bolts!

IMG_3303

I stamped the small screws on the very vanilla backgroud with crumb cake and delightful dijon inks. Perfect "man" colors.

The greeting is actually from the "Suite Sentiments" stamp set from the Occasions catalog. I thought it worked perfectly with this card. I punched it out with the "Best Badge" punch.

IMG_3304

I'm loving the Urban Underground designer paper in coordination with this stamp set. It blends so perfectly.

IMG_3305

I'm hoping you like this masculine idea- I know I'm always looking for guy themed ideas for the men in my life.

Thanks for stopping by.

Stampin Up Occasions Catalog- Perfect Mix stamp set

The Perfect Mix stamp set is so cutie pa-tootie! I went a little crazy, creating with this set today. I love the "bubble gum" colors of this card, it so mid- century.

My two favorite colors are pink and green. So, I used melon mambo and bermuda bay to capture the fun mid-century-modern look of this card.

IMG_3222

But that's not all. Here's the second card that I made with pink pirouette, melon mambo and bermuda bay inks and cardstock. I also used a little bit of pool party cardstock to stamp the bowl on. So darling! I can't stop using the Stitched Shape Framelits. They look good no matter what I use them on.

IMG_3223

Yep, there's a third card. Yay! I told you that I couldn't put this set down. Its just so fun! I almost used all the stamps from the Perfect Mix stamp set on this one alone! LOL.  For the first and third cards, I got to use the NEW Stampin Up Watercolor pencils. They are amazing and they coordinate with our exclusive Stampin' Up! colors. Got to love that!

IMG_3224

I outlined each image with the colored pencils and then used the blender pen to blend the color out and give it a nice watercolor look. I added a rhinestone jewel to the melon mambo stitched ribbon for some sparkle. How appropriate, since the emboss folder that I used is called Sparkle as well!

IMG_3226

Here's all three together.

IMG_3225

Ok, I'll throw this one in for good measure. I used the Pop of Pink designer paper at the bottom of this card and the shiny bermuda bay sequin trim which I attached with our multi purpose glue. Dazzling Diamonds Glitter gives the ice cream/ pudding/yogurt a sugary glow. The word "sweet" is borrowed from the Cool Treats stamp set.

IMG_3216

See, I told you that I went a little crazy with this set today. I just couldn't help myself!

I hope you enjoyed all the fun cards that I made with the adorable Perfect Mix stamps. I hope you get this set for yourself and go a little crazy with it too!
