Cards from Class

I want to share 2 cards from Card Class last night. They are fun and full of color and sass! Plus they are both super easy to make.

The first card is made with the Big On Birthdays stamp set from the Stampin Up Occasions Catalog. This is one of my favorite birthday sets. I love the fonts and just the awesome size of the stamps in the set. I also used some bright cheerful colors on this card. First of all, I chose the Festive Birthday Designer paper for the balloons, which I punched out with the Balloon Bouquet Punch. The colors in this paper make me smile. I love the bold, bright, rainbow of colors!

The next card is also bold and fun. For this card, I used the Confetti Celebration stamp set from the Stampin Up Annual Catalog.

The star in this set works perfectly with the Medium Star Punch. This birthday card is simple and to the point. I think thats what I like most about it. A dimensional behind the star gives this card a nice dimension.

Once again, I was too busy chatting and having fun with my guests, that I forgot to take people pictures. Oh well, theres always next time.

Hope you enjoyed a peek at these two card class cards from last night. Thanks so much for stopping by.

Until the next time..

Stamping Technique: Spotlighting with the Country Livin' Stamp set.

One of my favorite stamping techniques from years ago is the "spotlighting" technique. I love this technique when used with outline stamps, because I don't have to color the entire image if I don't want to. With this spotlighting technique, the colors pop right off of the page.

It really makes the card unique and a true stand out. I used the Country Livin' stamp set from the Stampin Up 2016-2017 annual catalog. I also used the Hardwood background stamp because it went perfectly with the old wooden truck bed. It also makes for an awesome masculine greeting card.

I do have a video posted below with step by step instructions. NOTE: the video cuts off at the end, however, the only thing you'll miss is me gluing the card together. I'm not sure why it cut out, but I'm new to this video stuff so I'm learning as I go.

This is the card with the spotlighting technique- isn't it cool?

IMG_3901

Here's a close up of the spotlighted circles. I used 2 circle punches to punch out the images on the truck. I stamped two trucks. One that I used as the full truck image on the card and one that I punched the circles from, which you will see in the video. The spotlighting looks a little off in this photo, but its the angel that I took the picture.

IMG_3902

I hope you watch the video and have fun learning this super cool stamping technique. Like I mentioned, the video cuts off at the end, but you won't miss any of the spotlighting technique.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit!

Easter Card sneak peek

Hello Stamping Friends! Are you ready for Easter yet? Its right around the corner and will be here before we know it.

So, today I'm sharing a little sneak peek of one of the cards that we will be making at my next Card Class.

I used the "Special Reason" stamp set and also the "Suite Sentiments" stamp set for the Easter greeting.

IMG_3869

I think these colors are perfect for Easter. I used sweet sugarplum, wisteria wonder and pear pizazz.

I simply stamped the images from large to small then added the greeting in basic gray archival ink.

For the middle of the flowers, I punched 1/2 and 3/4 inch circles from the blushing bride glimmer paper.

Super simple and pretty as can be. Hope the ladies enjoy making this soft subtle, flowery Easter Card next week.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Stampin Up Big On Birthdays greeting card

Here's a quick and cute card made with the Big On Birthdays stamp set in the Stampin Up Occasions Catalog.

This is one of the cards we made at our last #1 Stampers Meeting. The Big On Birthdays set is a great stamp set to use as the main focal point on a birthday card. The greetings are so big and so fun that you don't really need any other stamps to accompany your design.

I used the the fun colors of emerald envy and watermelon wonder. Watermelon wonder will be retiring soon, so be sure to stock up on the cardstock and re-inkers before they are gone.

IMG_3667

The emerald envy ribbon and enamel shapes really stand out on this bright and cheery birthday card.

Of course I had to add the new Falling Petals emboss folder in the background. I love how the embossing gives the card some texture and dimension.

I appreciate you visiting my blog today. Be sure to keep checking back for more creative ideas!

Dragonfly Dreams- from a friend. And Lots of Swaps

I received this beautful Dragonfly Dreams cards from my friend, Elaine Swidzinski. I thought it was so pretty, that I wanted to give Elaine a "shout out." She is such a talented stamper and makes the most beautiful creations, that I wanted to share it with all of you.

IMG_3763

Elaine used the Dragonfly stamp set and coordinating dies, to create this copper foil dragonfly. I love how she embossed the Falling in Love designer paper with the Softly Falling emboss folder. It looks so elegant.

Rhinestone jewels eyes on the dragonfly give it that sparkly touch.

IMG_3764

Thanks Elaine, for making such an exceptional card for me. I love it!

And just for fun, I wanted to add a bunch of swaps that I received from a special swap that I host with fellow members of the Stampin' Up! Advisory Board Alumni. These ladies always "wow" me with their talent!

I hope you enjoyed these special cards that I have shared today.
