Well, I haven't stamped for a few days, so therefore, I haven't had anything to post on my blog.
But, today, I took some time to make a special graduation card for my bff's daughter, Brianna. Brianna is "over the top" brilliant and beautiful, so I had to design a card to match Brianna's beauty and brains. No small feat, I tell you.
She just recently graduated from High Point University, where the school colors are purple and white. I had to combined all the aspects above and also make sure it included purple, plus, it had to "look" like a graduation card.
I decided on the Birthday Blossoms stamp set. I pulled it off the shelf and realized that I really hadn't used this set much. I don't know why- its such a pretty set with some great sentiments, any of which would have worked great with this graduation card.
But, as I mentioned, it had to "look" like a graduation card. So, how was I going to incorporate "graduation" on a card stamped with flowers?
Well, I pulled out one of my favorite retired alphabet sets- "Varsity Letters" which is perfect for anything related to "school" wording, and....
Here's what happened:
Purple, High Point University, beautiful and smart- everything pulled together quite nicely, I think.
This card does remind me of the graduate- bright, sparkly and all around amazing!
Yes, there is glitter on this card, as well as a few shiny rhinestones.
I used shimmery white cardstock (of course;) to hold up to the watercoloring that I did with blender pens and drops of ink from the ink refill bottles.
Here's a little peek at the inside of the card. I had already written a personal message, so I didn't photograph it completely open. The verse inside says: "She believed she could... so she did." And that's exactly what this highly accomplished graduate did!
You'll find this verse included in one of the new stamps sets in the upcoming, new Stampin' Up! 2017-2018 catalog.
If you think I'm exaggarating about Brianna's beauty and brains... here's a picture to prove its the truth- she gets it from her momma, for sure.. and I get to be in the middle of the "beauty sandwich."
It was a wonderful celebration of a sweet and sassy, over the top, on her way to bigger and better things, graduate.
When I handed Brianna her card this evening, she said " I can't wait to see what you came up with, for my card." I sure hope she loves her card as much as I loved creating it just for her.
A one of a kind card, for a one of a kind graduate. Congratulations again, Brianna!
I hope you all enjoyed visiting today and I'm glad I was able to share this special graduation card with you.
Until the next time..
Keep on Stampin' and Come back again soon!
