Stampin' Up Thailand Trip- Part 1: The Pineapple Tour

Hello! I'm back from the Stampin' Up incentive trip in Phuket, Thailand. We actually started vacationing in New York, then on to Beijing China and from there to Thailand. We called it the "Pineapple Tour" because, well, I like Pineapples. Lol.

It was an amazing trip and we toured and experienced so many beautiful and breath-taking places. Here's a few pictures of our adventures.

This is my daughter, Maci and I with my friend Tracy and her daughter Megan. We started our adventure by stopping in NY and walking the Brooklyn Bridge.

While in NYC, we took a fireworks cruise in the New York Harbor.

The show was spectacular and the fireworks were enormous!! Can't beat the fireworks in New York City, thats for sure!

A trip to Brooklyn wouldn't be complete without a stop at Grimaldi Pizza. Oh so good!

Here's a really cool view of the Empire State Building seen through the Brooklyn Bridge.

Then on to Beijing, China to see the sites, and of course the Great Wall!

IMG_7438

Walking on the Great Wall of China was an amazing experience. To see and feel something that was built in the 1400's was an unbelievable experience and something we will never forget.

First we rode up to The Great Wall on a cable car. A little scary for me, but Maci loved it.

What a breath taking view.

It was super cool that we got to ride down from the Great Wall on a toboggan. Weeeeee....

The Great Wall of China was absolutely fascinating!

I'll have part two to share with you next time. But for now, here's a peek at one of the swap boards in Thailand. Made from demonstrators all over the globe.

Masculine Card with the Le"men" Zest stamp set

It seems everyone always needs ideas for masculine cards. I know I always do. They are somehow harder to create than the fancy girly girl, flowery, pink and pretty cards we create for our girl friends.

I thought the perfect colors for a masculine birthday card would be the new lemon lime twist and of course, basic black and naturally I had to use the Lemon Zest stamp set- only its a lime this time.

IMG_7158

I did use a little bit of the new Lemon Lime Ombre ribbon- but you could leave that off if you wanted to.

Here's a close up. If you look really close you can see the new Garden Trellis emboss folder on the basic black cardstock. Its the same folder I used on the Coffee Cafe card that I posted last week. Its so cool- and can be used for masculine cards too.

IMG_7159

Here's a little variation of the same card. I used the Layered Leaves emboss folder on the basic black cardstock for this one.

Either design would make a great birthday card for the great guys in your life. Hey, it could even make a great birthday card for the girls as well!

Thanks for taking a peek at my blog today.

Until the next time...

Stampin Up Daisy Delight

We made a thank you card at my last Card Class with the Daisy Delight stamp set and coordinating Daisy Punch.

Everyone loved this set so much, that most everyone bought it that night.

It helps that the Delightful Daisy Designer Paper is so darling with the soft and pretty colors throughout the 12 sheets of double sided paper.

IMG_7236

I used wisteria wonder and so saffron cardstock and inks as well as Delightful Daisy designer series paper.

The new Gold Faceted Gems look awesome with this flower. They also come in clear.

Hope you like it as much as my card class did!

The Little Mermaid?

I almost didn't order this stamp set, even though I liked it and have been wanting a mermaid stamp set.

I wasn't sure how I would make it look as good as it should. But, I came up with an idea and I think it turned out just right!

This one was embossed with copper emboss powder and framed with copper foil paper. The card color is wisteria wonder. I colored it in with an aqua painter and drops of re-inkers.

IMG_7165

The water color paper is perfect for the amount of water I used to water color the background and the mermaid.

IMG_7166
Here I used a different color card- soft sky and pool party. I think I like these colors even better. I also used silver emboss powder and silver foil paper for one of the mermaids.

IMG_7271

This is the silver up close. Got to love those Iridescent Sequin Assortment. They remind me of bubbles!

IMG_7273

All the little mermaids in a row.

I'm singing Under the Sea in my head as I post these lovely mermaids....
