Eclipse Technique Valentine Card

It may be a little early for Valentines Day cards, but I couldn't resist playing around with this popular new technique that I have been waiting to try. The eclipse technique is so very cool and super easy.

If you are attending card class this week, we will be making an eclipse card, so you're in luck!

For this card, I used the "This Little Piggy" stamp set and the new Stampin' Blends Markers. Of course it wouldn't be an eclipse technique without the main product... the Large Letters Framelit Dies.

The card base is real red 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" card, Quilted Christmas designer paper is cut 5 1/4" x 4 and the whisper white is 5" x 3 3/4".

How stinkin' cute is this little piggy!?

All I did was stamp the image with the tuxedo black Memento ink pad, onto whisper white cardstock, and colored it in with the Stampin Blends alcohol markers, in pink pirouette, old olive and daffodil delight. I then cut the X and O out with the Big Shot and Large Letters Framelits dies.

Next, I mounted my whisper white cardstock onto my card- and attached the die cut X and O (in the cut out spaces) with mini dimensionals.

Don't forget the inside:

Thats it! Super simple.

I hope my card class attendees will love the card I have for them this week- its also Valentine related.

Thanks for stopping by today...

Until the next time....

Stampin Up Convention- Part 4- More Swaps, Friends and Fun & Maybe a Sneak Peek

Attending the Stampin Up Convention is not only a great way to learn and create, but its also so much fun, hanging with my team and friends from all over the world.

This year, my team and I wore our Pink Pineapple Paper Crafts t-shirts to the opening session. Many groups do the same and dress in their team outfits. Gretchen, Lori and Kathy definitely look pretty in pink, don't you think?

We loved hanging out with our friends from the Aloha state. They are always so friendly and fun and bring a ray of sunshine along with them.

We of course enjoyed swapping with them and my friend, Linda Bauwins team- here's a look at all the gorgeous swaps from our Warm and Fuzzy Breakfast party.

There are always tons of sample boards and such great techniques and art to absorb. Lori was blown away with her first Convention and all the amazing ideas and techniques.

Catching up with my team and enjoying a dinner or two together is always a highlight. Here we are at The Roof Restuarant overlooking Temple Square in SLC, Utah.

Meeting up with my demonstrator friends is something I really look forward to, as I only get to see them once or twice a year. This is my friend Robyn from Utah- we go way back- we are Stampin Up Advisory Board sisters.

A fun group of friends from the East Coast to the Pacific - Me, Cindy, Linda, Mary Ellen and Tami.

Of course there are always prizes and gifts. Check out the "all attendee" give away- hint: its a sneak peek from the New Occasions Catalog 2018!

The excitement of the crowd and the energy is contageous.

There was also a special dinner, entertainment and training for some of us. Kim, Cindy, Meg and Missy are the sweetest!

I was so happy that my downline Kathy was able to attend this special Centre Stage event with me this year.

Gifts- did I mention all the gifts that I hauled home? Wow, its always fun to unpack all of this joy! Can you see the new stamp sets that are coming in January???

That wasn't all. This year, after Convention, my friends, Lynsay, Meg and Cindy flew to NYC to celebrate Megs birthday. Here we are at the top of the Freedom Tower, tallest building in the country... 1776 ft high. It was a great ending to a fabulous Stampin' Up! friends trip.

More sneak peeks of the upcoming Occasions Catalog 2018 coming soon!

Stampin' Up! Convention - Part 3 Gathering Together to Give Thanks

One of the best parts of the Stampin' Up! Convention is getting together with friends from all over the country. Most of us only see each other once or twice a year, so its a big, fun reunion when we get together.

We have an awesome Stampin Up Advisory Board Alumni dinner for all of the amazing demonstrators who were honored to serve on Stampin' Up's advisory board throughout the years.

This year, top demonstrators gathered together to "Give Thanks" and enjoy each others company.

Of course we always have a swap, and this years theme was "Thank you" cards. We also had fall themed favors and one of our alumni, Julie Salva, blessed us with an inspirational message.

These are the favors that my friend Cindy Baughman made. Inside were delicious chocolate covered pretzels.

Myself, Cindy and Linda Bauwin are AB sisters and great friends. We love this special event during the Stampin' Up Convention.

As I mentioned there is always a special swap especially for this group. Here's a photo of many of the swaps from these talented women.

I also received this special gift from my Advisory Board sister, Kay Smith from Canada. You can view Kays blog here. Its an Acetate Card Box, filled with beautiful "note" cards.

Aren't they gorgeous? I was so excited with my special gift- thanks again, Kay!

This is one event that I definitely look forward to. This is a photo of all the amazing demonstrators who attended this special dinner. So blessed to be a part of this group of women.

I'm already looking forward to our next get together!

Thanks for visiting today.

Stampin Up Convention- Part Two- the Swapping

One of the most fun aspects of Convention is the swapping. There is swapping going on everywhere, from the time you land at the airport until the last day of convention events.

We always have a special team swap at our Convention pre- party that we host each year. As I mentioned in my last post, I would share some of our team cards with you this week. Swapping is making one card design and creating it multiple times- then trading with everyone else in the swap.

Our theme was to create a card using any "bundle" in the Holiday Catalog. Bundle, because of the Warm and Fuzzy themed breakfast and "bundling" up to stay warm.

I'll share a few of the great swaps with you today.

This one was made by Zeny Lucey from Hawaii. Remember Zeny, our amazing hula dancer? Zeny used the beautiful "Hearts Come Home" bundle. This card is stunning in every way. I love Zenys style, its so elegant and detailed.

This swap was made by my uber talented downline and friend, Lori Wiest. She used the "Musical Season" bundle. I think these colors are perfect for the multi fold card. I love all the patterns and the texture on this gorgeous card. Lori is a master at creative folding.

Here's a card by the creative Kathy Sullivan. Kathy used the cute Christmas Sweaters stamp set. This card would be perfect for invites to an ugly sweater, Christmas party- even tho this card is not ugly in any sense- its adorable!

Kathy even made all of us a darling little bag tag for our Convention totes.

This swap was created by the fabulous Gretchen Galiardo. Gretchen used the Christmas Quilt bundle for this intricate and amazingly detailed swap card. I appreciate all the time and love that Gretchen put into making the perfect card. I also love that this set isn't just for Christmas as Gretchen proved here.

Here's a look at the inside. ... check out how Gretchen embossed over the designer paper. Fantastic!

You can get measurements on how to make a z fold card like this on an earlier post HERE

That's all for now folks. I hope you enjoyed the talent of these awesome stampers!

Stampin Up Convention Fun- Part One

Well, I'm back from the Stampin' Up Convention in SLC, Utah- and a post trip to NYC. It was an amazing week (or so) of fun, creativity and adventure. I have so much to share!

I will start with my "Warm and Fuzzy" team breakfast that my friends, Linda, Cindy and I host for our teams to kick off the start of Convention. I love having this special event for my girls, to let them know how much I love and appreciatet them.

We always have a fun theme and this year the Warm and Fuzzy theme was perfect. We even wore scarves for our group photo!

Here we are, ready to welcome everyone to the party!

How cute is the Smitten Mitten banner that Cindy created for the table centerpiece? So adorable!

We had hot chocolate favor jars at each place setting as well as a pair of red or white warm fuzzy mittens, stuffed with stampin up products at each person.

Linda made the cute tags to tie on our Convention bags. She even put our names on the back and laminated them!

Here's a close up..

After breakfast, we played games for an awesome door prize. I don't have a photo, but it was oven mitts stuffed with SU products. What could be better than that?

We also had a swap- I posted my melon mambo/lemon lime twist Smitten Mitten Card a few days ago. Everyone had awesome swaps and I'll post those next time.

We even had a real live HULA dancer. Zeny flew all the way from Hawaii to attend the Convention and we were so happy that she agreed to perform her beautiful hula dance for us that morning.

He we are with all of our teammates and our warm and fuzzy scarves.

It was a fun start to an amazing 4 days of Stampin' Up Convention excitement and creativity! Be sure to stop back again for more convention updates throughout the week.

Until the next time...

Keep on Stampin' and Come back again soon!

Stampin Up "Ready for Christmas" Card with a Fun Fold

This is another fun fold for a cute Christmas card using the new Ready for Christmas stamp set. Ready for Christmas, comes with a coordinating framelit bundle, however, I only used the stamps to create this card.

I also used the brand spanking new Stampin Blends alcohol markers! Oh how I love these awesome pens!

The designer series paper is from the Be Merry 12 x 12 paper pack and the cardstock colors are whisper white, cherry cobbler and pear pizazz.

When using the Stampin' Blends markers, the Tuxedo Black Memento pad is a must. It is designed to work with alcohol markers. Can you see how well shaded and blended these markers make my image look? They are so easy and effortless to use.

Here's a closer look at the fun Z fold of the card. This fold was very simple to create. I folded the  4 1/4" x 11" cherry cobbler cardstock in half. Then I folded the front flap of the card, back up to the fold. So, I actually just folded the front flap in half to meet the side fold of the card.

Here's another angle of the Z fold card.

There are so many stamps and dies in this adorable stamp set and coordinating framelit set that the possibilities really are endless!

Thank you for stopping by today!
