I put together my new Be Merry Ornament Kit by Stampin' Up today and I LOVE this kit!!!
I already have another one on order, too! It's going to be great for gift packaging tags, tags for beverage bottles, and of course ornaments for ornament exchange gifts and for on the Christmas tree.
The kit comes with instructions and photos, but I've also made a quick step by step tutorial for you. There are a few tips I've included that I found helpful when assembling my ornaments. I also changed up the colors patterns into a few different combinations.
Here's a look at the contents of the kit: Makes 12 ornaments
This is one of the finished ornaments with a candy cane design.
This one has the Christmas tree design.
And here's a candy cane with green tulle.
First I separated all the tulle circles- you'll need 9 for each ornament. You must make sure you separate them because they are very thin and stick together. I rubbed them between my fingers to separate them. Then I made little piles for each ornament. Once you have your tulle piles, the first thing you will do is assemble the base- it is a circular "flower" shaped circle that has a strip of adhesive on one of the folded ends- peel off the paper and attach to other end of circle base.
Next, fold your tulle in "fours" and pinch the bottom end- attach it to every other fold on the circle base with hot glue.
This is what it will look like, once all 9 pieces of tulle are attached.
Next, you will attach the gold foil doily to the center of the ornament with hot glue.
Then attach the candy cane cutout to the red glitter circle using hot glue.
Then attach the candy cane glitter circle to the front with hot glue.
Next, you will attach the precut word "merry" to the wooden banner with our multipurpose liquid glue.
Then attach the wooden banner with hot glue.
The final touch is the ribbon.
RIBBON TIP: To get the kinks out and straighten or curl the ribbon, slide your fingernail (or bone folder) down the length of the ribbon like you would if you were using paper "curling" ribbon. Use lighter pressure with your nail (or bone folder) if you want to straigthen the ribbon and more pressure if you want it to curl.
Attach the ribbon at the top with hot glue.
Also included are white circles to attach to the back or the ornament. You can stamp to:/from: on the back or add the date or name to the back. I attached the white circle with hot glue as well. This photo also shows all the "leftovers" I had with this kit.
Here's all the ornaments. I changed up the colors from what the instructions suggested. You can assemble them in any color combination that your heart desires.
I was having so much fun!
Here's all 12. This is my most favorite kit ever- these turned out beautifully!
I can't wait to get my second kit! If you would like to order a kit of your own.. click on the product photo below- it will take you to my shopping page where you can place your order.
I hope you find these tips useful.
Until the next time...
