Best Birds

Brusho and Beautiful Day stamp set

If you follow me on Facebook, you probably saw my Brusho swatches that I was playing around with. Well, I made them into cards.

I will share the first one with you today.

I used the big, bold, beautiful flower from the Beautiful Day stamp set as well as the Brilliant Red Brusho powder.

I used watercolor paper for my first attempt at Brusho. I wet the paper first with an aqua painter. I then sprinkled the brilliant red brusho and a little bit of gamboge (orange) brusho onto the wet paper. Then spritzed it with water again from about 4" away.

I wanted it to dry fast so that I could emboss over it, so I used my heat tool to dry it. I then used white emboss powder and embossed the flower over it and cut it out.

For the leaf, I did the same as above, only with the moss green brusho and cut it out and adhered the leaf onto the red flower. I backed it with the gorgeous Petal Passion designer paper, black shimmer ribbon and a few rhinestones in the middle of the flower.

I'm really enjoying the brusho and all the unique combinations that can be created with it. I have more to share so come back again soon!

Until the next time...

Kim's Card Class- Best Birds stamp set

Tonight was one of my favorite nights of the month, Kim's Card Class. I love getting to see so many of my stamping friends all in one place. I did forget to take people pictures (again) but I do have an awesome card to share with you that we made tonight.

This set is called "Best Birds" I also used the coordinating thinlits- "Birds and Blooms" to cut out the little birdie.

This card was really quick and easy to stamp and color. I stamped the bird on soft sky cardstock with early espresso ink. Then I used a wisteria wonder and pumpkin pie marker to color the beak and tail before I die cut him with the Birds and Blooms thinlit dies.

I also stamped the branch and greeting in early espresso ink and colored the flowers and leaves with wisteria wonder and old olive markers. The cross hatch in the background is stamped in sahara sand ink. I added some pearl jewels to the middle of the flowers to give them some dimension.

Such a handsome guy.

This is a great set for any occasion. The girls at class loved it!

Thanks for stopping by today. Please stop back to see more cards from class that I will be posting soon.
