Big on Birthdays

Cards from Class

I want to share 2 cards from Card Class last night. They are fun and full of color and sass! Plus they are both super easy to make.

The first card is made with the Big On Birthdays stamp set from the Stampin Up Occasions Catalog. This is one of my favorite birthday sets. I love the fonts and just the awesome size of the stamps in the set. I also used some bright cheerful colors on this card. First of all, I chose the Festive Birthday Designer paper for the balloons, which I punched out with the Balloon Bouquet Punch. The colors in this paper make me smile. I love the bold, bright, rainbow of colors!

The next card is also bold and fun. For this card, I used the Confetti Celebration stamp set from the Stampin Up Annual Catalog.

The star in this set works perfectly with the Medium Star Punch. This birthday card is simple and to the point. I think thats what I like most about it. A dimensional behind the star gives this card a nice dimension.

Once again, I was too busy chatting and having fun with my guests, that I forgot to take people pictures. Oh well, theres always next time.

Hope you enjoyed a peek at these two card class cards from last night. Thanks so much for stopping by.

Until the next time..

Stampin Up Big On Birthdays greeting card

Here's a quick and cute card made with the Big On Birthdays stamp set in the Stampin Up Occasions Catalog.

This is one of the cards we made at our last #1 Stampers Meeting. The Big On Birthdays set is a great stamp set to use as the main focal point on a birthday card. The greetings are so big and so fun that you don't really need any other stamps to accompany your design.

I used the the fun colors of emerald envy and watermelon wonder. Watermelon wonder will be retiring soon, so be sure to stock up on the cardstock and re-inkers before they are gone.

The emerald envy ribbon and enamel shapes really stand out on this bright and cheery birthday card.

Of course I had to add the new Falling Petals emboss folder in the background. I love how the embossing gives the card some texture and dimension.

I appreciate you visiting my blog today. Be sure to keep checking back for more creative ideas!

Watercolor Wash Technique- Stampin' Up! Big on Birthdays

This is a really cool and easy watercolor technique that I especially love with the Big on Birthdays set, however, it looks great with any bold stamp set.

For this technique I used watercolor paper. Any other cardstock won't hold up under the amount of water used.

You'll need a bold stamp set like this one, Big on Birthdays from the new Occasions Catalog, as well as an aqua painter and 2-4 inkpads, water color paper and emboss powder if you wish. You can use basic black ink, but I love the way the embossing stands out on the watercolor background.

This is the first color combination that I used: Soft Sky, Cucumber Crush, Emerald Envy and Pacific Point. I used a few drops of the re inker bottles on a foam plate and used my aqua painter to pick up the ink and swoosh it over the watercolor paper, starting with the lightest color first, working to the darkest.

I embossed the greeting in white emboss powder and colored in the flowers and leaves with the matching marker colors. I topped it off with an emerald envy ribbon.

Here's one using Soft Sky, Sweet Sugar Plum, Wisteria Wonder, Rich Razzle Berry and Elegant Eggplant. I embossed the greeting in gold emboss powder and added a sweet sugar plum ribbon.

I love the shine of the gold emboss powder against the colors of purple.

The third card colors are Daffodil Delight, Peek a Boo Peach, Flirty Flamingo, and Melon Mambo. Once again the images are colored in with markers and I added a flirty flamingo ribbon.

This one was stamped in back black archival ink.

This is a really fun and relaxing technique that I hope you will try. Be sure to use the watercolor paper for this one!
