Card Folds

Stampin Up Convention- Part Two- the Swapping

One of the most fun aspects of Convention is the swapping. There is swapping going on everywhere, from the time you land at the airport until the last day of convention events.

We always have a special team swap at our Convention pre- party that we host each year. As I mentioned in my last post, I would share some of our team cards with you this week. Swapping is making one card design and creating it multiple times- then trading with everyone else in the swap.

Our theme was to create a card using any "bundle" in the Holiday Catalog. Bundle, because of the Warm and Fuzzy themed breakfast and "bundling" up to stay warm.

I'll share a few of the great swaps with you today.

This one was made by Zeny Lucey from Hawaii. Remember Zeny, our amazing hula dancer? Zeny used the beautiful "Hearts Come Home" bundle. This card is stunning in every way. I love Zenys style, its so elegant and detailed.

This swap was made by my uber talented downline and friend, Lori Wiest. She used the "Musical Season" bundle. I think these colors are perfect for the multi fold card. I love all the patterns and the texture on this gorgeous card. Lori is a master at creative folding.

Here's a card by the creative Kathy Sullivan. Kathy used the cute Christmas Sweaters stamp set. This card would be perfect for invites to an ugly sweater, Christmas party- even tho this card is not ugly in any sense- its adorable!

IMG_1776

Kathy even made all of us a darling little bag tag for our Convention totes.

This swap was created by the fabulous Gretchen Galiardo. Gretchen used the Christmas Quilt bundle for this intricate and amazingly detailed swap card. I appreciate all the time and love that Gretchen put into making the perfect card. I also love that this set isn't just for Christmas as Gretchen proved here.

Here's a look at the inside. ... check out how Gretchen embossed over the designer paper. Fantastic!

That's all for now folks. I hope you enjoyed the talent of these awesome stampers!

Gift Card Holder using Merry Little Labels

Last week at my Card Class, we made this unique and fun Christmas gift card holder. The ladies, were loving it!

I also used the darling, Be Merry designer series paper to decorate this cool gift card holder.

This is the card completely closed. I layered the Stitched Shapes Framelit ovals in whisper white and cherry cobbler cardstocks.

IMG_0581

Here's the inside:

IMG_0583

The whisper white cardstock is cut at 4 1/4" x 11". Its folded in half and then scored at 2 1/4" to form the pocket for the gift card.

I used tear tape to adhere the ends of the pocket and a 1" circle punch half way down on the circle, to from the thumb scoop.

I adhered the oval with 2 dimensionals, on the right side so that the left flap could slip underneath.

IMG_0584

The Be Merry designer paper is cut at 3x4, 2x4 and 1x4 inches. The largest piece is adhered to the outside left and the smallest is adhered to the inside pocket of the card.

IMG_0582

Isn't it cool? I can't wait to give a few of these out this Christmas!

Thanks so much for visiting today.

Stampin Up "Thank You" card using the "You Move Me" stamp set

Once again I am coming to you from the Stampin Up Convention in SLC Utah. This time I have a swap that I made for our Stampin Up Advisory Board Alumni Dinner. This group of elite women are top demonstrators from all over the country!

The theme was "Thank you" cards for our amazing customers!

I wanted to use something sparkly and bright and with a unque fold. So, I chose the "You Move Me" stamp set, because I love the big, bold images in this set. I also used the ever so yummy, Foil Frenzy designer paper. This paper has my name written all over it!

IMG_0451

The colors used are berry burst and tangerine tango. They work beautifully together with the lemon lime twist in the Foil Frenzy designer paper. The Ombre Glitter Dots look great as the "body" of the butterfly.

IMG_0453

But the best part, is the surprise fold in the middle of the card...

IMG_0455

The dimensions of the pieces are as follows: Berry Burst: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". Tangerine Tango: 8" x 3"- fold it in half. Whisper white: 3 3/4" x 2 3/4". You will need 2 pieces of the whisper white- one for the inside and one for the outside. The Foil Frenzy strips are: 1" x 4"- you will need 2 of these as well.

IMG_0454

I hope my Advisory Board sisters love their bright and shiny, "thank you" swap!

These ladies are so talented and creative. I love seeing their fabulous designs each month and look forward to seeing what they will come up with.

This amazing swap was made by the uber talented Mary Ann Hazlett. She is so good at fine details and 3D projects. This card was made with the Hearts Come Home bundle in the Holiday Catalog.

The Christmas Quilt bundle is a favorite of mine and this card shows exactly why I love it. Tina DeSalvo made this colorful and and cute Christmas card that would be perfect to send to friends and family this holiday season.

And last by not least, one of my favorite stamp set bundles, ever- Night in Bethlehem. This gorgeous card was made by Sue Brennan. I adore the colors that Sue used and how she made them pop, by sponging around the edges with the elegant eggplant ink. So pretty!

Stampin Up Colorful Seasons Z Card Fold

I've got another triple Z fold card to share with you today. I posted one last week made with a birthday stamp set, and today I'm using the Colorful Seasons Bundle to make a fall card.

I used the beautiful leaves from the Colorful Seasons stamp set. This stamp set is a two step stamp set- which means the stamps are layered on top of each other in different colors to create shading and dimension.

If you'd like the measurements and a quick tutorial on how to make this fold- refer back to the card from last week - click here

IMG_9938

A tip when stamping the large leaves- stamp the outline image first and then the solid image. I used pumpkin pie, rich razzleberry and pear pizzaz inks on this card.

IMG_9940

I added some fun embellishments too! Gold faceted gems, enamel shapes and gold metallic shapes.

IMG_9939

I wanted to give the card the look of tree bark, so I added the Pinewood Plank emboss folder to add some detailed woodgrain dimesion to the top flap of the card. I love how it turned out.

IMG_9942

Its officially fall and I think this card is a perfect greeting for the season.

IMG_9943

Happy Fall y'all and thanks for stopping by!

How To Card Fold with Seasonal Chums

One of the cutest stamp sets in the new Stampin' Up Holiday Catalog is the Seasonal Chums stamp set and coordinating Seasonal Tags framelits.

I used the pumpkin stamp as a single image instead of a tag, which is what the stamp was designed to be. Check the images in the set, below, listed after this post. You will see what I mean.

For this special fold, I cut a 4 1/4" x 11 " piece of wisteria wonder cardstock. Then I cut a 2 3/4" in piece off of the front flap of the card. The basic black square is 1 3/4", the so saffron is 1 1/2" and the lemon lime twist is 1 1/4".

IMG_9630

I stamped the pumpkin in basic black archival ink and colored it in with the wink of stella clear brush dipped in the lids of the inkpads. The inks I used were pumpkin pie, tangerine tango and garden green.

IMG_9631

Using the wink of stella brush is like using a blender pen, only its shimmery!

Here's an inside view:

IMG_9632

Here's an inside view.

I also used the new Quilt Top embossing folder for the background on the lemon lime twist cardstock as well as the new Black Rhinestone Jewels and the Painted Autumn designer series paper. The bats, web and pumpkin were all die cut with the Seasonal Tag framelits of course.

IMG_9633

That's another cute pumpkin card and unique, fun fold to add to your idea box!

Thanks for stopping by.
