Christmas Quilt

Fun Fold - Gift Card Holder

I used the super cute, Smitten Mitten set to make this awesome gift card holder for Christmas.

The small mittens hold the flap closed and when opened, it exposes the little pocket inside to hold a special gift card.

I used the Christmas Quilt designer paper from the Stampin Up Holiday Catalog as well as a touch of red glimmer paper to make the gift card holder sparkle.

The card is 4 1/4" x 11. I scored the card at 4 1/4" then 9 3/4". The bottom flap folds up and I attached the two die cut mittens with mini dimensionals. The top flap tucks in under the mittens to hold the card closed.

Here's the inside. I used tear tape on the far edges of the bottom flap, so that a gift card can be easily tucked inside.

Did you notice the red rhinestone gems? I colored our basic rhinestone with the Stampin' Blends cherry cobbler marker. These markers are permanent and can be used on non porous surfaces. SO cool!

We made this card at this months Card Class and the ladies loved it!

You should give it a try!

Stampin Up Convention- Part Two- the Swapping

One of the most fun aspects of Convention is the swapping. There is swapping going on everywhere, from the time you land at the airport until the last day of convention events.

We always have a special team swap at our Convention pre- party that we host each year. As I mentioned in my last post, I would share some of our team cards with you this week. Swapping is making one card design and creating it multiple times- then trading with everyone else in the swap.

Our theme was to create a card using any "bundle" in the Holiday Catalog. Bundle, because of the Warm and Fuzzy themed breakfast and "bundling" up to stay warm.

I'll share a few of the great swaps with you today.

This one was made by Zeny Lucey from Hawaii. Remember Zeny, our amazing hula dancer? Zeny used the beautiful "Hearts Come Home" bundle. This card is stunning in every way. I love Zenys style, its so elegant and detailed.

This swap was made by my uber talented downline and friend, Lori Wiest. She used the "Musical Season" bundle. I think these colors are perfect for the multi fold card. I love all the patterns and the texture on this gorgeous card. Lori is a master at creative folding.

Here's a card by the creative Kathy Sullivan. Kathy used the cute Christmas Sweaters stamp set. This card would be perfect for invites to an ugly sweater, Christmas party- even tho this card is not ugly in any sense- its adorable!

Kathy even made all of us a darling little bag tag for our Convention totes.

This swap was created by the fabulous Gretchen Galiardo. Gretchen used the Christmas Quilt bundle for this intricate and amazingly detailed swap card. I appreciate all the time and love that Gretchen put into making the perfect card. I also love that this set isn't just for Christmas as Gretchen proved here.

Here's a look at the inside. ... check out how Gretchen embossed over the designer paper. Fantastic!

You can get measurements on how to make a z fold card like this on an earlier post HERE

That's all for now folks. I hope you enjoyed the talent of these awesome stampers!

Stampin Up Smitten Mitten Swap

If you are reading this blog post today, I am in Salt Lake City at the Stampin' Up Convention! This is one of the swaps that I made for my team pre- party. My friends, Cindy, Linda and I always have a special event for our teams, before the Convention begins. We do this, because we love and appreciate our girls, and we want them to know how special they are to us! We have a meal, swap, give out gifts, favors and door prizes. This year we even had a hula dancer perform!

We had a team breakfast party, which was our "Warm and Fuzzy" theme. So the Smitten Mitten and the coordinating Many Mitten Framelit dies were perfect for the swap.

I love bold, bright colors and as you know, pink and green are my most favorite colors! For this card, I used melon mambo and lemon lime twist. I also used whisper white and pink pirouette cardstock.

The emboss folder is the new Quilted Top emboss folder in the Stampin Up Holiday Catalog. The nice thing about this folder is that you don't have to just use it for Christmas. Its perfect anytime! A few pretty Enamel Shapes tie in the colors of pink on the card.

Don't forget the inside- the greeting and a tiny snowflake in lemon lime twist ink, complete the card. Did you notice the square of lemon lime twist cardstock? I used the Stitched Shapes Framelits to create the "sewn" look around the square. I think these may be my favorite framelits ever!

Did three little kittens loose their mittens? Here's the bright trio, right here..

I had to tie up the mittens with a beautiful lemon lime twist finely woven ribbon. This ribbon is so soft and gorgeous!

I hope the ladies like their swap and the Warm and Fuzzy Breakfast event. I know we had a lot of fun planning it for them.

Thanks for checking in. I'll be posting more from Convention this week, so stay tuned!

Stampin Up Clear Tiny Gift Boxes

Another one of the projects we did at my Holiday Gift Packaging Class is a cute 2x2 acetate gift box.

We made two different ones actually, but I am going to share one of the boxes with you today.

The box was filled with Ghirardelli Chocolates wrapped in 3" x 1 1/2" strips of Quilted Christmas designer paper.

I used the Bow Builder Punch for the sparkly red glimmer paper ribbon on top.

All the chocolates wrapped in pretty designer paper.

A sweet little gift to use as a favor on Christmas, or give as a small gift to co-workers, neighbors, classmates and friends.

So cute, I love it!

Thanks for visiting today!

Christmas Cards by My Talented Team

I wanted to share some of the swaps that my team created for our #1 Stampers Meeting swap this month.

These ladies are so talented and creative. I love seeing their fabulous designs each month and look forward to seeing what they will come up with.

This amazing swap was made by the uber talented Mary Ann Hazlett. She is so good at fine details and 3D projects. This card was made with the Hearts Come Home bundle in the Holiday Catalog.

Here's a look at it opened:

This beauty is by Tonya Beatty. Tonya makes such delicate and pretty cards, with a unique twist. I always love seeing her wonderful ideas.

Here's a cute little card by a cute little teammate- Teresa Fisher. I like the simple and fun nature of this card. This card was made with the Merry Cafe stamp set from the Holiday Catalog.

The Christmas Quilt bundle is a favorite of mine and this card shows exactly why I love it. Tina DeSalvo made this colorful and and cute Christmas card that would be perfect to send to friends and family this holiday season.

And last by not least, one of my favorite stamp set bundles, ever- Night in Bethlehem. This gorgeous card was made by Sue Brennan. I adore the colors that Sue used and how she made them pop, by sponging around the edges with the elegant eggplant ink. So pretty!

I hope you enjoyed all these beautifully made cards, by some of my incredibly talented team members.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Window Card - Stampin' Up Christmas Quilt

Here's a fun and simple window card, using the star and framelits from the Christmas Quilt Bundle. I used the Quilt Builder Framelits to cut the window on the front flap of the garden green card.

I then stamped the star with the Christmas Quilt stamp set in garden green and pool party. I love these two colors together. It makes an interesting and unique color combination for Christmas cards- think ice and pine trees...

I added a strip of the Quilted Christmas designer paper across the front of the card to pull in more of the star pattern and ink colors.

I mounted the stamped star image on a square of pool party cardstock and attached it inside the card, directly behind the window that I cut out.

A strip of silver metallic edge ribbon tied in a knot and attached with a glue dot is mounted on the top corner of the card and an Enamel Shape is centered in the middle of the cut out window.

Its the perfect little non traditional Christmas Quilt window card to send out this season.

Thanks a bunch, for stopping by today!
