Fiesta Birthday

Cards from Class

I want to share 2 cards from Card Class last night. They are fun and full of color and sass! Plus they are both super easy to make.

The first card is made with the Big On Birthdays stamp set from the Stampin Up Occasions Catalog. This is one of my favorite birthday sets. I love the fonts and just the awesome size of the stamps in the set. I also used some bright cheerful colors on this card. First of all, I chose the Festive Birthday Designer paper for the balloons, which I punched out with the Balloon Bouquet Punch. The colors in this paper make me smile. I love the bold, bright, rainbow of colors!

The next card is also bold and fun. For this card, I used the Confetti Celebration stamp set from the Stampin Up Annual Catalog.

The star in this set works perfectly with the Medium Star Punch. This birthday card is simple and to the point. I think thats what I like most about it. A dimensional behind the star gives this card a nice dimension.

Once again, I was too busy chatting and having fun with my guests, that I forgot to take people pictures. Oh well, theres always next time.

Hope you enjoyed a peek at these two card class cards from last night. Thanks so much for stopping by.

Until the next time..

Simple Z Fold Card Technique- Featuring Stampin Up! Fiesta Birthday Stamp Set

We did a simple Z fold card at Kim's Card Class last week, featuring this same set, the "Birthday Fiesta" and the coordinating "Fiesta Time" framelit dies.  This card is very similar to the one we made at class. This is my favorite Z fold, because its the easiest. No measuring and no cutting- just how I like it.

Here it is... super bright and colorful, just as a Fiesta should be!

The Z fold is super simple. You will fold your card in half as you normally would ( to form a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2" card) Then simply fold the front of the card back to meet the fold of the card. So, you are just folding the front flap in half but backwards toward the fold.

I've added the banner using the Banner Framelit dies. Be sure when you adhere the banner to the Z fold, to only apply adhesive on the left side of the banner.

I used the Watercolor Wash background stamp inked in so saffron ink, to add some subtle color behind the cute cacti.

As always, gotta stamp the inside. I had to use that silly little llama somewhere!

Here's another shot, showing more of the fold and how the banner is attached.

I love all the bright, sunny and happy colors of this card and I hope it makes the recipient feel happy as well!

Stay tuned this week for more great projects. I just made a super pretty card with the "Thoughtful Branches" set today and I'm hoping to post it tomorrow.

Until then....
