#1 Stampers Meeting, Make n Takes & Team Swaps

One of my favorite things about my Stampin Up business is getting together and stamping with friends, especially my downline team members. We share business tips, stamping ideas, swaps and also have yummy snacks and fun door prizes during our get togethers.

This month Teresa Fisher shared a make n take project with us using the Magical Mermaid stamp set. Her sample was gorgeous. Unfortunately I messed mine up and ended up coming home and having to re-do my card. However, I did use the same colors and cardstocks of Teresas and I loved the colors she chose. Bermuda bay, berry burst and tempting turquoise. The colors really look magical together.

It was Teresas idea to color the ends of the hair in bermuda bay. How cool is that? I love it!

This is a photo of some of my team from the meeting that night. I remembered to get a photo after most of the girls had already left. Next time, I will have to tie a string around my finger or something, so I remember to get photos early. By the way, that's cute little Teresa to the left of me, in the white sweater.

I also wanted to take time to share of few of the amazing swaps that the girls created. The theme was fall cards and the girls did a fabulous job as usual.

Stampin' Up! :A Happy Home- Bonus Project from Kim's Card Class

Today I have the "Bonus Card" from my Card Class to share with you. Everyone at class loved this card. It came together really well. One of the ladies from card class, is even going to frame hers, she loved it so much!

We used the "Happy Home" stamp set from the Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalog. This set is retiring, so if you love it, get it before May 31st. We also used the coordinating "Hearth and Home" framelits for the window.

I actually used our window sheets for the window to make it look like there was glass inside. The "Brick Wall" emboss folder was used on the crumb cake cardstock. I sponged over it with crumbcake ink to give it depth and shading.

Here's a close up-  Can you tell that there is a reflection in window sheet under there?

We used a stampin' sponge to color in the grass and the sky. Then finished coloring the boy and the kite with Stampin' Write Markers, in real red, crumb cake, marina mist and the line on the grass is old olive.

The greeting was punched out with the 1 1/4" circle punch and the 1 1/2" scallop circle punch in marina mist cardstock.

A bit of "Naturals Chevron Ribbon" adds that extra special detail to the card.

If you're from western PA, like I am, you know that lately, we've had perfect weather to "go fly a kite!"

I hope you enjoyed seeing how we made the "Bonus Card" from Kim's Card Class this week.

Maybe you can join us in person next month!

I have one last card to share from this months class. So, be sure to check back!

*And don't forget to comment on my Paper Pumpkin post a few days ago, to win a one month subscription to Paper Pumpkin. I will be doing the drawing on the evening of May 8th.

Until the next time...
