Pop of Paradise

Stampin' Up! A Few Flirty Flamingos

I hope you all had a fun 4th of July and enjoyed a nice long holiday weekend.

Time to get back to work for most of us... sometimes the holidays just aren't long enough.

Since its been so warm here and feeling like the tropics, I've made a cute flirty flamingo card to share with you today.

This stamp set is from the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog 2016-2017. Its called "Pop of Paradise." I also used the "Pop of Pink" designer paper which compliments this card perfectly. I'm taking full advange of using this set this summer. I love making bright summery cards and in PA, summer doesn't last very long, so I've got to make these cards while I still can!

I used 3 variations of ink to stamp the flamingos: pink pirouette, flirty flamingo and melon mambo. The verse was stamped in basic black archival ink and die cut with the "Sweet and Sassy" Framelit dies.

I added the new black metallic thread, which I wrapped around 3 of my fingers and then attached it in place with dimensionals under the heart. I added a few rhinestone jewels for some sparkle.

Here's another variation of this card only I changed a couple of the colors on the card. I used blushing bride, flirty flamingo and calypso coral.

This time I wrapped basic black bakers twine around the card and added a flirty flamingo "Enamel Shape" to the bow.

Here's a photo of both cards:

Pink Flamingo Fabulous-ness!

I was eager to get stamping again with the Pink Flamingo from the Stampin Up "Pop of Paradise" stamp set.

I did make one card for my card class a couple weeks ago, and today I made a few more. I will share one of them with you now.

I don't have a ton of time, but wanted to get this posted before I leave for Nashville..(so excited)

Anyway, here is the super duper cute flamingo card...

IMG_9842

I inked the flamingo in pink pirouette, then I used sponge daubers to dab calypso coral, flirty flamingo, and melon mambo ink directly onto the stamp before I stamped it on the cardstock. I also wiped off the beak and feet with a wet wipe and applied basic black marker before I stamped it. I used the new Petal Burst emboss folder on the flirty flamingo cardstock- I then used a sponge dauber to go over the embossed petals with flirty flamingo ink. It really gives the background some great shading and dimension and really makes the petals "pop."

IMG_9844

I used dazzling diamonds glitter to highlight the greeting, and punched it out with the 1 3/8" circle punch.

Of course I had to use the coordinating Pop Of Pink designer paper for the banner. I love the polka dots and fun patterns in this package of paper.

IMG_9843

I tied it off with the flirty flamingo ribbon and melon mambo stitched ribbon. The new circle framelits works perfectly with the flamingo image on this card.  And don't forget the inside. I stamped a cute little pink and black pineapple in the corner. Too cute!

IMG_9845

Double the fun! I'm glad I had time to play a little with the Pop of Paradise set. I just love all the images and greetings. Stampin' Up is right on trend with this popular stamp set.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog today. I hope this darling flamingo inspired you, like it did me!

Until the next time..

Kim's Card Class- Featuring the New Stampin' Up Annual Catalog

It was so exciting to finally get to show off the new Stampin' Up! products at my stamp class this week. It was a full class and everyone was so happy to stamp using all the new, fun stamps and accessories.

Speaking of happy stampers, here's Michelle, Rebekah, and Sherree, all with huge smiles on their faces and fabulous stamps in their hands, having the time of their lives.

This card uses the "Fresh Fruit" stamp set with the strawberry image. This is a two step stamp set, which means that the pieces of the fruits are separated so that they can be stamped in different colors. The strawberry is separate from the stem, therefore, we stamped the strawberry in real red and the stem in wild wasabi. There is also an outline stamp for the berry. The outline around the strawberry is rose red and the stem outline is garden green. We also used the "Thoughtful Banners" stamp set and coordinating "Duet Punch" for the greeting on the card.

This card was a big hit at class. The "Pop of Paradise" is an adorable stamp set and ever so trendy right now.

We used melon mambo, cucumber crush and emerald envy inks on this one. Check out the new Ovals framelits- they showcase the proud flamingo beautifully.

Rebekah asked if she could design a card with the pineapple from the "Pop of Paradise" set, as well. She loves pineapples. Well, isn't that a coincidence.. I love pineapples too, Rebekah- especially PINK ones! What a cute card, don't you think?

IMG_9460

This card was made with the "Swirly Bird" stamp set. You all know how much I love this set. I had to use it at my class for sure.

I stamped it in one of my favorite color combos, soft sky and perfect plum. The leaves are pear pizazz and old olive.

IMG_9457

Last but not least... the "Moroccan Nights" stamp set was used to stamp this sparkly card. We used the stamping technique, glitter splatter, to sparkle it up. I had a quick tutorial on the glitter splatter technique a few days ago, so swing back a few posts and check it out if you missed it. The colors on this card are delightful dijon, elegant eggplant, cajun craze and dapper denim.

Here's the whole beautiful bunch.

One last photo. This is my friend Nancy, who drove over an hour with my friend Michelle K, to come stamp with us. I haven't seen them in forever and was thrilled they were able to make the trip!

Thanks to all my stamping friends for attending my first card class featuring the brand new catalog. It's always one of my favorite events, when I get to see all of you!

And thank YOU for stopping by my blog today. I hope that I've inspired you to make some of these great cards too!

I am so happy to get to share more new products with you. Today, I chose the new "Pineapple" stamp set. Why, you ask? Well, because my new blog design is.. Pineapples! I did share a pink pineapple a week or so ago, and today, I went for a more natural look.

IMG_9423

I also used the "Thoughtful Banners" stamp set and coordinating "Duet Banner" Punch, along with the little pineapple from the "Pop of Paradise" stamp set.

IMG_9424

I love the fresh vibrant colors on this card. Cucumber Crush, Daffodil Delight, Garden Green and Delighful Dijon all used to make it look like a real live pineapple!

IMG_9426

I also used the new cucumber crush thick bakers twine to finish off the textured look of this card. I'm really loving this new twine and all the possibilities. Its so easy to work with as well.

IMG_9425

Here's a quick tip: I inked the pineapple in daffodil delight and cucumber crush, then used a sponge dauber in delightful dijon to shade the bottom of the pineapple and one in garden green to shade the crown of the pineapple. I love the dimension that it adds to the image.

I look forward to sharing lots and lots of new stamps and accessories with you in the upcoming days, weeks and months.
