Stampin Up Convention- Part Two- the Swapping

One of the most fun aspects of Convention is the swapping. There is swapping going on everywhere, from the time you land at the airport until the last day of convention events.

We always have a special team swap at our Convention pre- party that we host each year. As I mentioned in my last post, I would share some of our team cards with you this week. Swapping is making one card design and creating it multiple times- then trading with everyone else in the swap.

Our theme was to create a card using any "bundle" in the Holiday Catalog. Bundle, because of the Warm and Fuzzy themed breakfast and "bundling" up to stay warm.

I'll share a few of the great swaps with you today.

This one was made by Zeny Lucey from Hawaii. Remember Zeny, our amazing hula dancer? Zeny used the beautiful "Hearts Come Home" bundle. This card is stunning in every way. I love Zenys style, its so elegant and detailed.

This swap was made by my uber talented downline and friend, Lori Wiest. She used the "Musical Season" bundle. I think these colors are perfect for the multi fold card. I love all the patterns and the texture on this gorgeous card. Lori is a master at creative folding.

Here's a card by the creative Kathy Sullivan. Kathy used the cute Christmas Sweaters stamp set. This card would be perfect for invites to an ugly sweater, Christmas party- even tho this card is not ugly in any sense- its adorable!

Kathy even made all of us a darling little bag tag for our Convention totes.

This swap was created by the fabulous Gretchen Galiardo. Gretchen used the Christmas Quilt bundle for this intricate and amazingly detailed swap card. I appreciate all the time and love that Gretchen put into making the perfect card. I also love that this set isn't just for Christmas as Gretchen proved here.

Here's a look at the inside. ... check out how Gretchen embossed over the designer paper. Fantastic!

You can get measurements on how to make a z fold card like this on an earlier post HERE

That's all for now folks. I hope you enjoyed the talent of these awesome stampers!

Until the next time...

Stampin Up Smitten Mitten Swap

If you are reading this blog post today, I am in Salt Lake City at the Stampin' Up Convention! This is one of the swaps that I made for my team pre- party. My friends, Cindy, Linda and I always have a special event for our teams, before the Convention begins. We do this, because we love and appreciate our girls, and we want them to know how special they are to us! We have a meal, swap, give out gifts, favors and door prizes. This year we even had a hula dancer perform!

We had a team breakfast party, which was our "Warm and Fuzzy" theme. So the Smitten Mitten and the coordinating Many Mitten Framelit dies were perfect for the swap.

I love bold, bright colors and as you know, pink and green are my most favorite colors! For this card, I used melon mambo and lemon lime twist. I also used whisper white and pink pirouette cardstock.

The emboss folder is the new Quilted Top emboss folder in the Stampin Up Holiday Catalog. The nice thing about this folder is that you don't have to just use it for Christmas. Its perfect anytime! A few pretty Enamel Shapes tie in the colors of pink on the card.

Don't forget the inside- the greeting and a tiny snowflake in lemon lime twist ink, complete the card. Did you notice the square of lemon lime twist cardstock? I used the Stitched Shapes Framelits to create the "sewn" look around the square. I think these may be my favorite framelits ever!

Did three little kittens loose their mittens? Here's the bright trio, right here..

I had to tie up the mittens with a beautiful lemon lime twist finely woven ribbon. This ribbon is so soft and gorgeous!

I hope the ladies like their swap and the Warm and Fuzzy Breakfast event. I know we had a lot of fun planning it for them.

Thanks for checking in. I'll be posting more from Convention this week, so stay tuned!

A Cute Gift Idea using the Smitten Mitten Bundle

I've got a super cute little favor or gift idea to share with you today. We made these adorable jars, filled with hot chocolate and marshmallows, at my Holiday Gift Packaging Class.

I used the Quilted Christmas designer paper to decorate the lid. The 2 1/4" circle punch, was the perfect size for the top.

The tiny little mittens were stamped on blushing bride cardstock with real red ink. We die cut them with the coordinating Many Mittens Framelits.

These are little jelly jars that I purchased at Wal Mart. Perfect for 2 heaping spoonfuls of hot chocolate and a bunch of marshmallows on top. I also used the 1" and the 1 1/4" circle punches for the greeting on the top of the lid.

I die cut 2 sets of mittens and glued them front and back. Some white bakers twine is attached between the two mittens with tear tape, so that the mittens dangle off of the jar.

I also used a strip of tear tape around the outside of the lid, then attached the powder pink ribbon the whole way around the lid and tied it in a knot.

Super simple and very festive for the holidays. I hope you'll give it a try!

Window Card - Stampin' Up Christmas Quilt

Here's a fun and simple window card, using the star and framelits from the Christmas Quilt Bundle. I used the Quilt Builder Framelits to cut the window on the front flap of the garden green card.

I then stamped the star with the Christmas Quilt stamp set in garden green and pool party. I love these two colors together. It makes an interesting and unique color combination for Christmas cards- think ice and pine trees...

I added a strip of the Quilted Christmas designer paper across the front of the card to pull in more of the star pattern and ink colors.

I mounted the stamped star image on a square of pool party cardstock and attached it inside the card, directly behind the window that I cut out.

A strip of silver metallic edge ribbon tied in a knot and attached with a glue dot is mounted on the top corner of the card and an Enamel Shape is centered in the middle of the cut out window.

Its the perfect little non traditional Christmas Quilt window card to send out this season.

Thanks a bunch, for stopping by today!

Stampin' Up! Christmas Quilt tree card

I have a quick and cute card to share with you today, made with the Christmas Quilt stamp set. I've been itchin' to use the new Stitched Felt Embellishments and this was the perfect opportunity to do so.

Of course I used the coordinating Quilted Christmas Designer paper as well. I made this darling little card for my #1 Stampers Team Meeting swap.

I think the little tree stamps worked perfectly alongside the felt tree. I attached the felt tree with dimensionals.

The star on the top of the tree is from the Metallic Enamel Shapes embellishment set. I stamped another little tree on the inside too!

I wanted to try this card with a real red background in place of the garden green. I think it really pops with the red designer paper.

Both cards, side by side... I can't choose.. what do you think?

I hope the girls liked their swaps tonight!

Thanks for visiting today.

Sweet and Simple Christmas Quilt

I've got a really quick and easy Christmas card to share with you today. Its made with the new Christmas Quilt stamp set and coordinating Quilt Builder Framelit dies.

I also used the Quilted Christmas designer paper which I die cut to form the quilted star on this card.

I used the "thick" whisper white cardstock as the card base. The thick whisper white is heavier and more sturdy, than the regular whisper white, which is perfect for the base of a card. The other cardstocks used are soft sky and garden green.

I used the Quilted Christmas ribbon, garden green ink and a clear faceted gem as the perfect finishing touches.

This card is simply perfect for a peaceful Christmas greeting. Hope you like it!
