#1 Stampers Team Christmas Party & a Sneak Peek

We had such a great time last weekend at our #1 Stampers team party. I love getting together with my team and enjoying each others company. We also did a little bit of stamping and swapping as well as exchanged some amazing hand stamped gifts!

We played a cute grab bag game to determine who got which gift.

Notice the little tag on Teresa's gift? Its a darling little panda from a new Sale a Bration set coming in January!

IMG_E2034

Teresa received some chocolate and some beautifully stamped Christmas cards, made by Lori Wiest.

These are a few of the cards that Lori Wiest made for her gift exchange:

Kathy's gift came wrapped in this gorgeous stamped paper by Sue Brennan.

IMG_2043
The amazing work of art that was inside that pretty paper.... Sue Brennan really out did herself creating the awesome gift!

IMG_2044

Darlene Christian was the artist that designed these matching coasters and candles for the lucky recipient.

IMG_2056

I designed this gift bag with punched red glimmer paper circles and a tag made with the Tags and Trimmings stamp set. I didn't make a hand stamped gift, however, inside were stamps and goodies from the upcoming NEW Occasions Catalog!

IMG_E2052

We played some super fun games and had a snowball fight to win prizes. I think this was the favorite game that night.

IMG_E2079

IMG_E2076

I also had the girls tear a Christmas Tree behind their backs. The best tree won a prize. I also gave a prize to the tree that wasn't the best ;) Here are some of the trees. Unfortunately neither the best or worst trees are in this photo. Not sure where they ran off to...

IMG_2092

We also had a cool make n take with a new stamp set and accessories from the soon to be released Occasions Catalog 2018.

Lori is assembling her cute card before our next game.

This set is called Bubble Over and you'll be able to order it in January. Check out the designer paper, the new sequin emboss folfder, the clear bubbles and the self adhesive sequins- yes, you'll be able to order those soon too!

Christmas Party Favors and Gifts

I had our annual Christmas Party for my #1 Stampers team last night. I'll share lots of photos of the party later this week, but I wanted to share the favors and gifts that each attendee received.

I used the Stampin Up Pizza Boxes to package the party favors and gifts for each team member.

These boxes are small white pizza shaped boxes in the Holiday Catalog. However, I "painted" the boxes red to fit the Christmas theme. I got this idea from a gift I received at the Stampin' Up Convention, from my friend Lynsay Mahon. See Lynsays blog here.

This is the box that Lynsay gave me:

IMG_2017

I loved Lynsay's design and especially the fact that she colored the pizza box. Lynsay explained that she filled a Stampin' Up Spritzer with water and added 10-15 drops of re-inker. Then lightly sprayed the boxed before she assembled it, and rubbed in the color with a paper towel. So, I tried it and my boxes came out perfectly! Thanks Lynsay!

IMG_1956

I used a Stampin Blends marker in old olive to color the pearl. Did you know that our Stampin' Blends could color non- porous surfaces?

IMG_1955

I used the Christmas Around the World designer paper to decorate the boxes, as well as the mini tinsel trim in silver. A 2 1/4" circle punch was used to punch the sparkly red glimmer paper on the front of the box.

IMG_1958

Inside, I covered Ghirardelli Chocolates with 3" x 1 1/2" Christmas Around the World designer paper strips.

IMG_1954

But, that's not all- I also created a Christmas shaker magnet for each of the girls as well.

IMG_1953

Keeping with the red and green color scheme, I used the holly and berries from the Tags and Trimmings stamp set in the Holiday Catalog. I added some sparkle with red glimmer paper as well as the Stampin Up Metallic Sequins.

IMG_1951

I used Foam Strips and Acetate Window sheets to create the shaker. I also used the 2 1/4", 1 3/4" and 3/4" punches for all the circles. Then I simply glued a small circular magnet on the back with Multi purpose glue. Its difficult to see, but I also glued a piece of the real red tinsel trim around the circle to cover the foam strip around the outside of the circle.

IMG_1952

I loved making these Christmas magnets for my girls. I hope they loved them too!

IMG_1948

Here's a peek inside the box: The ink spots are a new item in the soon to be released Stampin' Up Occasions Catalog!

IMG_1960

I'll have more crafty cards and projects to share from the Christmas party, so be sure to check back soon!

Stampin Up Smitten Mitten Swap

If you are reading this blog post today, I am in Salt Lake City at the Stampin' Up Convention! This is one of the swaps that I made for my team pre- party. My friends, Cindy, Linda and I always have a special event for our teams, before the Convention begins. We do this, because we love and appreciate our girls, and we want them to know how special they are to us! We have a meal, swap, give out gifts, favors and door prizes. This year we even had a hula dancer perform!

We had a team breakfast party, which was our "Warm and Fuzzy" theme. So the Smitten Mitten and the coordinating Many Mitten Framelit dies were perfect for the swap.

IMG_0419

I love bold, bright colors and as you know, pink and green are my most favorite colors! For this card, I used melon mambo and lemon lime twist. I also used whisper white and pink pirouette cardstock.

IMG_0421

The emboss folder is the new Quilted Top emboss folder in the Stampin Up Holiday Catalog. The nice thing about this folder is that you don't have to just use it for Christmas. Its perfect anytime! A few pretty Enamel Shapes tie in the colors of pink on the card.

IMG_0418

Don't forget the inside- the greeting and a tiny snowflake in lemon lime twist ink, complete the card. Did you notice the square of lemon lime twist cardstock? I used the Stitched Shapes Framelits to create the "sewn" look around the square. I think these may be my favorite framelits ever!

IMG_0422

Did three little kittens loose their mittens? Here's the bright trio, right here..

IMG_0420

I had to tie up the mittens with a beautiful lemon lime twist finely woven ribbon. This ribbon is so soft and gorgeous!

IMG_0423

I hope the ladies like their swap and the Warm and Fuzzy Breakfast event. I know we had a lot of fun planning it for them.

Thanks for checking in. I'll be posting more from Convention this week, so stay tuned!

Stampin Up Vintage Leaves with a Cool Ink Technique

Fall is definitely in the air this week. We've had pretty nice weather until just recently, and now its been rainy, chilly and yucky for the last few days.

I would rather have the cool, crisp, colorful days of fall instead of this gloomy stuff. So, the card that I made today, reflects the beautiful days of autumn- warm, crisp and colorful.

IMG_0232

I used the Vintage Leave stamp set, stamped in basic black archival ink. The background is brayered in melon mambo, pumpkin pie and lemon lime twist inks. The technique on this card, I learned from Carolynn Sander from Canada. She does beautiful work and I loved her fun idea with this technique.

IMG_0233

The technique is called Color Lifting. Its pretty simple. I used a Stampin Spritzer filled with water, to lightly spray the background, after I brayered it. I held the spritzer about 12" from the cardstock. Then I used a paper towel to blot the extra water off of the cardstock. Next, I used a Stampin Up Aquapainter and splattered bigger drops of water on the background and used a paper towel to blot it up. Be sure to let the cardstock dry completely before stamping the leaves. You may use a heat tool to speed up the process. I used shimmery white cardstock, as it holds up to water very well. ( in the product list, I have whisper white- this is incorrect)

IMG_0235

I added the beautiful lemon lime twist ribbon and a few Glitter Dots to compliment the colors in the background.

IMG_0232

I have another beautiful card to share with this technique. I'll post it sometime this week.

Thanks for visiting!

Until the next time...

Christmas Cards by My Talented Team

I wanted to share some of the swaps that my team created for our #1 Stampers Meeting swap this month.

These ladies are so talented and creative. I love seeing their fabulous designs each month and look forward to seeing what they will come up with.

This amazing swap was made by the uber talented Mary Ann Hazlett. She is so good at fine details and 3D projects. This card was made with the Hearts Come Home bundle in the Holiday Catalog.

IMG_0277

Here's a look at it opened:

IMG_0276

This beauty is by Tonya Beatty. Tonya makes such delicate and pretty cards, with a unique twist. I always love seeing her wonderful ideas.

IMG_0278

Here's a cute little card by a cute little teammate- Teresa Fisher. I like the simple and fun nature of this card. This card was made with the Merry Cafe stamp set from the Holiday Catalog.

IMG_0281

The Christmas Quilt bundle is a favorite of mine and this card shows exactly why I love it. Tina DeSalvo made this colorful and and cute Christmas card that would be perfect to send to friends and family this holiday season.

IMG_0280

And last by not least, one of my favorite stamp set bundles, ever- Night in Bethlehem. This gorgeous card was made by Sue Brennan. I adore the colors that Sue used and how she made them pop, by sponging around the edges with the elegant eggplant ink. So pretty!

IMG_0279

I hope you enjoyed all these beautifully made cards, by some of my incredibly talented team members.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Stampin' Up! Night In Bethlehem- Beauty in Blue

I think this just may be my favorite of all favorites, in the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog. The more I use it, the more I love it.

The Night of Bethlehem stamp set and Bethlehem Edgelit dies were used for this monochromatic-ish Christmas card. I decided on all blue colors in different shades to keep it subtle and serene.

I used soft sky, marina mist and dapper denim inks from dark to light as I shadowed each set of buildings one over the next. I got this idea from the sample in the Holiday catalog, where the artist used the same shadowing, only with different colors.

IMG_0074

I paired the blue colors with silver glimmer paper and silver foil sheets to not only, compliment, but blend with the subtle hues of blue.

IMG_0087

I started with dapper denim, then stamped next in marina mist and finally, soft sky ink. The cut out images were attached with dimensionals.

IMG_0075

I wanted to stamp the images on soft sky cardstock to give it a softer background and not so bold as if I were to stamp it on a whisper white background. However, I did use whisper white on the inside of the card for a nice crisp background for the inside verse.

IMG_0086

A few sparkles were added to the sky with the rhinestone jewels and ombre glitter enamel dots. We made this card at my team meeting and a close version of this same card at my card class last week.

I think everyone enjoyed using this gorgeous stamp set as much as I did!

Thanks for stopping by today.
