Stitched Cards

Stampin Up Occasions Catalog- Perfect Mix stamp set

The Perfect Mix stamp set is so cutie pa-tootie! I went a little crazy, creating with this set today. I love the "bubble gum" colors of this card, it so mid- century.

My two favorite colors are pink and green. So, I used melon mambo and bermuda bay to capture the fun mid-century-modern look of this card.

But that's not all. Here's the second card that I made with pink pirouette, melon mambo and bermuda bay inks and cardstock. I also used a little bit of pool party cardstock to stamp the bowl on. So darling! I can't stop using the Stitched Shape Framelits. They look good no matter what I use them on.

Yep, there's a third card. Yay! I told you that I couldn't put this set down. Its just so fun! I almost used all the stamps from the Perfect Mix stamp set on this one alone! LOL.  For the first and third cards, I got to use the NEW Stampin Up Watercolor pencils. They are amazing and they coordinate with our exclusive Stampin' Up! colors. Got to love that!

I outlined each image with the colored pencils and then used the blender pen to blend the color out and give it a nice watercolor look. I added a rhinestone jewel to the melon mambo stitched ribbon for some sparkle. How appropriate, since the emboss folder that I used is called Sparkle as well!

Here's all three together.

Ok, I'll throw this one in for good measure. I used the Pop of Pink designer paper at the bottom of this card and the shiny bermuda bay sequin trim which I attached with our multi purpose glue. Dazzling Diamonds Glitter gives the ice cream/ pudding/yogurt a sugary glow. The word "sweet" is borrowed from the Cool Treats stamp set.

See, I told you that I went a little crazy with this set today. I just couldn't help myself!

I hope you enjoyed all the fun cards that I made with the adorable Perfect Mix stamps. I hope you get this set for yourself and go a little crazy with it too!

Until the next time...

Festive Season Stamp set is Sew Pretty

I've got a "sew" pretty Christmas card to show you today.

I used the "Festive Season" stamp set from the Stampin' Up! Holdiay Catalog. I really enjoy creating with this set because of the many different and fun uses of the stamp and coordinating "Festive Stitching" thinlits.

I made this particular card for a demonstrator swap. A swap is where we make several of one style of card and trade them for cards that the other demonstrators make. I get so many great ideas and samples by doing the swaps.

Here's my card. I used garden green, wild wasabi and cherry cobbler cardstocks and the same inks, in addition to the crushed curry ink.

Let's talk about the gorgeous "Cable Knit" emboss folder, shall we? It totally looks like a real sweater! If you recall, I used this on my "Holly Berry Happiness" card that I last posted. For that card, I used the gold foil and made a braid.

I used the "Festive Stitching" thinlets to design the tiny star which I sewed with the new cherry cobbler bakers twine. I sponged the whisper white background all over with crushed curry ink to give it a soft glow.

Check out the tiny little silver metallic enamel star in the middle of the stitching. It gives the card a touch of sparkle.

The sentiment is from the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" stamp set. Its one of my all time favorite greetings sets.

I love the look of a hand stitched card in traditional Christmas colors.

I hope my fellow "swappers" enjoyed getting this "sew" pretty card in their mailbox.

And I hope you enjoyed my post today. Thanks for stopping by.

Until the next time...

Stampin' Up! - Festive Season Stitched Star

I am having so much fun with this new stamp set and thinlits bundle. I love the look of stitched cards and this bundle makes it so easy to create a hand stitched card. I shared another card earlier that I made with this set. It was the Christmas ornament, with the small stiched star in the middle.

This time I used the large star from the "Festive Season" stamp set and the "Festive Stitching thinlits.

I used some fun and vibrant colors on this card, which I will list at the end of this post. I was happy to see that this set featured so many stars. I love Christmas stars.

The greeting is perfect for this "super star" card. Its so nice that the thinlits make the holes around the star so that I can use the new cherry cobbler bakers twine to  stitch around it and give it some beautiful texture and dimension.

I hope you enjoyed this brightly shining Christmas card.

Thanks for visiting today!

Stampin' Up! Festive Season- Getting ready for Christmas?

Well, its hard not to make Christmas cards, when I have all these fabulous new holiday stamps sets, sitting here waiting to be used!

I played around with the "Festive Season" and made some great "stitched" cards. Stitching is super popular right now and this set is so perfect for that. You'll need the coordinating "Festive Stitching" framlits as well. The framlits provide the holes for the stitching as well as all the shapes that match the stamps in the set.

I left some the the pierced holes without stitching. I really like the paper piercing look too. I also used the "Diagonal Stripe" background on this card. I think I use that background for just about everything. The greeting is from the "Thoughtful Banners" stamp set... ya.. I kind of use that set a lot as well. Check out the tiny pearl jewels and the cherry cobbler enamel accent in the middle of the ornament. I like how it gives the ornament some dimension and shine.

I used the new Bakers Twine Trio pack from the Holiday Catalog. It comes with 3 colors of twine, cherry cobbler, garden green and gold.

I ended up going "stitch crazy" once I broke open this set. I made a couple more cards with stitched accents, that I will share with you as well on another day.

I'm definitely NOT ready for Christmas yet, however, I really do enjoy making all the fun seasonal holiday cards!

If you haven't received a copy of the New Stampin' Up! Catalog and/or don't have a demonstrator, send me an email and I will put one in the mail for you!
