Suite Sentiments

Easter Card sneak peek

Hello Stamping Friends! Are you ready for Easter yet? Its right around the corner and will be here before we know it.

So, today I'm sharing a little sneak peek of one of the cards that we will be making at my next Card Class.

I used the "Special Reason" stamp set and also the "Suite Sentiments" stamp set for the Easter greeting.

I think these colors are perfect for Easter. I used sweet sugarplum, wisteria wonder and pear pizazz.

I simply stamped the images from large to small then added the greeting in basic gray archival ink.

For the middle of the flowers, I punched 1/2 and 3/4 inch circles from the blushing bride glimmer paper.

Super simple and pretty as can be. Hope the ladies enjoy making this soft subtle, flowery Easter Card next week.

Stampin Up Carousel Birthday- Watercolor -Emboss resist technique

As promised, here is the Carousel Birthday card that I posted on my Facebook and Instagram pages earlier this week.

I know it was a little teaser, as it was only a photo of a small section of the card.

The Carousel Birthday stamp set, is new in the Occasions Catalog. Some of the dies from the Up and Away thinlit set coordinate with this stamp set.

Here it is, all pretty in pink!

Basically what I did with this card is a watercolor wash for the background. Using watercolor paper, an aquapainter and re-inkers, I dipped the aquapainter in a few drops of pink pirouette, then flirty flamingo and finally, melon mambo. I swished it across the water color paper using an ample amount of water from my aqua painter. Each color was painted on separately starting with the lightest color, working to the darkest.

Once it dried.. ( I heated with my Stampin Up heat tool, to speed up the drying time) I embossed the ferris wheel with white embossing powder. This can actually be done before or after the watercoloring. I did emboss the horse first and then colored it in with the aqua painters and re-inkers.

I used the Cupcakes and Carousels Embellishment kit to finish the card. The gorgeous ombre ribbon, iridescent sequins and darling tassel are some of the items in this kit. Oh my goodness, I am totally loving this kit!

I used smoky slate ink for the pole and greeting. The greeting actually comes from the Suite Sentiments stamp set in the Occasions Catalog.

I love pink, so this card was such and enjoyable and relaxing card for me to create.

I'm thinking this would look awesome in shades of blue or purple as well. Oh the possibilities!

Stampin Up Nailed It!

Nailed It is the perfect name for this manly stamp set in the new Occasions Catalog. It has a variety of tools, nuts, bolts and clever verses. This set also has a coordinating "Build It" framelit die set.

I'm always in need of a masculine card, so I was happy to see this awesome set in the new catalog.

I also used the manly "Urban Underground" designer paper on this card as well.

The colors are crumb cake, delightful dijon, early espresso and very vanilla inks and cardstocks, as well as the gold foil paper.

I stamped the tools in early espresso ink, then die cut the tools with the "Build It" framelits. I used a crumb cake marker to outline the inside of the tools, then swiped over that with a blender pen. It gives the tools some great shading and depth.

The gold foil paper looks so cool embossed with the new "Hexagons Dynamic Emboss Folder." Check out the awesome Urban Underground embellisments- they look like real bolts!

I stamped the small screws on the very vanilla backgroud with crumb cake and delightful dijon inks. Perfect "man" colors.

The greeting is actually from the "Suite Sentiments" stamp set from the Occasions catalog. I thought it worked perfectly with this card. I punched it out with the "Best Badge" punch.

I'm loving the Urban Underground designer paper in coordination with this stamp set. It blends so perfectly.

I'm hoping you like this masculine idea- I know I'm always looking for guy themed ideas for the men in my life.

Thanks for stopping by.
