Swirly Bird

Stampin' With Swirly Bird

I want to share a super sweet and quick card with you today. I used the "Swirly Bird" stamp set for this simple card..

I can't even begin to tell you how many times that I have used this set. It really is one of my most favorite sets ever. It doesn't look like much in the catalog- but once these stamps are in your hands, you won't be able to stop playing with it. It seriously has like a zillion possibilities!

Here it is: sweet and simple or simply sweet...

I used the same solid stamp that I used for the sun as I did for the soft sky clouds. I wanted them to look soft and fluffy so I stamped off once onto scratch paper before I stamped on the card.

I also used the "Thoughful Banners" stamp set for the greeting. Thats another one of my favorites- especially because its pretty much all "words."

No embellishments and only whisper white cardstock. That's pretty unusal for me... but I actually like the simplicity of it all.

That's it for today folks. Thank you all for taking a look.

Until the next time...

Amazing Mail Day

Talk about jaw-dropping mail! When I received this card from my uber talented friend, Karen Barber, I think I let out a little squeal.

Karen has amazing talent and I love everything she creates. I am blessed to have received this special card from her a few days ago. Check out Karens blog here.

Karen used the "Swirly Bird" stamp set and coordinating "Swirly Scribbles" thinlits. The colors are irresistable! Flirty flamingo and night of navy look fabulous together. A touch of mint macaron for the leaves meld the colors together.

This card is so beautiful, its worthy of a frame, don't you think? Of course the inside is also decorated beautifully.

I love all the special details that she added to this fabulous card. I will list the supplies that Karen used, at the end of this post.

THANK YOU Karen for making my day and even my whole week! I'll treasure this work of art forever... and maybe even shop for a pretty little frame.

If you have a chance, visit Karen's page to check out her other inspiring creations.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Stampin' Up! Swirly Bird Stamp Set ~ Sailing Away

I've stamped several cards with this "Swirly Bird" stamp set and you've seen most of them featured on my blog in the last couple of months. I've designed everything from flowers, to birdies, to kites and swirls. But, today I wanted to make a sailboat card.

I haven't used the stamps to design a sailboat yet, and I was excited to have a chance to work on that today.

This set doesn't look like much in the photo featured in the Stampin' Up! catalog, but I promise you, once you get this set in your hands, you won't want to put it down.

I also used the coordinating "Swirly Scribbles" thinlits to add some sunshine to this soothing card.

Here's what I ended up with:

I embossed the pool party cardstock with the new "Seaside" emboss folder, which was perfect for the ocean waves in the background. I also used the "Thoughtful Banners" stamp set with the coordinating "Duet Banners" punch. I use that set a LOT too.

First I dipped my stampin' sponge in pool party ink and sponged over the embossed waves. I used an aqua painter dipped in the bermuda bay ink refill- then splattered it onto the background. The die cut waves and swirly sun are from the Swirly Scribbles thinlit dies. Did you notice that I sponged over the sun as well? I used pumpkin pie ink over the so saffron cardstock on the sun.

The ink colors on the sailboat are bermuda bay and pool party, with a pumpkin pie flag. I popped the sunshine up with glue dots that I rolled up with my fingers to make them fit under the thin lines of the swirls.

A little bit of linen thread under the sailboat give it a nautical touch.

I'm kind of loving these colors together. To me it feels very soothing and "carefree."

I hope you like it! I appreciate you taking time to visit my blog today. Hope you stop back soon.

Until the next time...

Poppin' Pink Posies

Melon Mambo is my favorite Stampin' Up! color. I love the bright, deep pink shade of the ink and cardstock. It just makes me happy.

I have designed a few cards using the "Swirly Bird" stamp set, and stamping the flower swirl in melon mambo ink. I added the new peek a boo peach ink, cardstock and ribbon, as well as the new emerald envy ink and cardstock and cucumber crush ink. A few rhinestone jewels on the leaves give it a bit of sparkle.

I used all of the same products on this card, but switched out the emerald envy cardstock with melon mambo cardstock and the leaves are stamped in mint macaron and cucumber crush.

I used the same color scheme here as I did with the first card. I added the splatter in peek a boo peach ink and the greeting is from the "Tin of Cards" stamp set, stamped in basic black archival ink.

The terrific trio.

I think this would be a great gift set for a teacher, sister, friend, neighbor or just about anyone.

Sweet and simple and so super cute!

I had such fun stampin' up these pink posies. I hope you enjoyed this trio of bright, happy and poppin' pink cards.

Kim's Card Class- Featuring the New Stampin' Up Annual Catalog

It was so exciting to finally get to show off the new Stampin' Up! products at my stamp class this week. It was a full class and everyone was so happy to stamp using all the new, fun stamps and accessories.

Speaking of happy stampers, here's Michelle, Rebekah, and Sherree, all with huge smiles on their faces and fabulous stamps in their hands, having the time of their lives.

This card uses the "Fresh Fruit" stamp set with the strawberry image. This is a two step stamp set, which means that the pieces of the fruits are separated so that they can be stamped in different colors. The strawberry is separate from the stem, therefore, we stamped the strawberry in real red and the stem in wild wasabi. There is also an outline stamp for the berry. The outline around the strawberry is rose red and the stem outline is garden green. We also used the "Thoughtful Banners" stamp set and coordinating "Duet Punch" for the greeting on the card.

This card was a big hit at class. The "Pop of Paradise" is an adorable stamp set and ever so trendy right now.

We used melon mambo, cucumber crush and emerald envy inks on this one. Check out the new Ovals framelits- they showcase the proud flamingo beautifully.

Rebekah asked if she could design a card with the pineapple from the "Pop of Paradise" set, as well. She loves pineapples. Well, isn't that a coincidence.. I love pineapples too, Rebekah- especially PINK ones! What a cute card, don't you think?

This card was made with the "Swirly Bird" stamp set. You all know how much I love this set. I had to use it at my class for sure.

I stamped it in one of my favorite color combos, soft sky and perfect plum. The leaves are pear pizazz and old olive.

Last but not least... the "Moroccan Nights" stamp set was used to stamp this sparkly card. We used the stamping technique, glitter splatter, to sparkle it up. I had a quick tutorial on the glitter splatter technique a few days ago, so swing back a few posts and check it out if you missed it. The colors on this card are delightful dijon, elegant eggplant, cajun craze and dapper denim.

Here's the whole beautiful bunch.

One last photo. This is my friend Nancy, who drove over an hour with my friend Michelle K, to come stamp with us. I haven't seen them in forever and was thrilled they were able to make the trip!

Thanks to all my stamping friends for attending my first card class featuring the brand new catalog. It's always one of my favorite events, when I get to see all of you!

And thank YOU for stopping by my blog today. I hope that I've inspired you to make some of these great cards too!

Let's go fly a kite... Stampin' Up! style!

Its day two of the New Stampin Up Annual Catalog release. So, how long is your "wish list?" Oh my goodness, mine was quite the list. I was up at 6:30 am placing my highly anticipated order. I literally can not wait to get all my new fun stampin' stuff!

Until then, I have designed another great card with my favorite stamp set of the moment.. "Swirly Bird". This time I'm using the kite image. I love that the kite is a 2 piece stamp. I am able to stamp it in two different colors if I wish to do so.

This was so fun to make, that I may even use it for a swap I'm in. I really loved designing and making this happy card.

The ink colors, are two of the new "In Colors", peek a boo peach and sweet sugarplum. They look so great together.

I also used peek a boo peach, basic black and whisper white cardstock. The designer paper is from the new "Playful Palette" designer paper stack. I love the splatter on this piece- so much fun!

Here's a close up. The greeting is from the "Thoughtful Banners" stamp set. I've already used this set on almost every card I've made this week.

A few pearl jewels add dimension and make this a super cute and happy card.

And how about that yummy, peek a boo peach ruched ribbon? I just want to wrap myself up in it!

Don't forget the inside... can you see the sweet little flowers?

I really can't get enough of this set. The versatility is endless. I want to use it for everything, seriously!

So, are you sold on the "Swirly Bird" stamp set, yet? Go ahead, and add it to that list of yours, you'll be ever so glad that you did!

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today. I'll be posting cards from my upcoming card class within the next few days, so be sure to stop back again.
