Today I have a sneak peek of one of the cards that we will be making at Kim's Card Class this week.
Its a card made with the new stamp set, "Weather Together" and coordinating, "Umbrella Weather" framlit dies. I also used a cool stamping technique on the umbrella. I featured this same technique a couple months ago with some balloon stamps.
Those of you attending card class will get to make 3 of these darling cards.
I also used the "Watercolor Wash" background stamp, which I inked in pool party ink, and stamped it on pool party cardstock, to give it a warm, tone on tone look.
As you can see, I not only die cut the umbrella, but also a couple of clouds. I love the contrast of color on the umbrella- its watermelon wonder ink, stamped on the same color cardstock.
Did you notice that the umbrella is poofy? Kind of like the way a real umbrella looks when its open.
I used the stampin pierce mat and the opposite end of the paper piercing tool to make it poofy. With the end of the paper piercing tool, outline the umbrella and press tool firmly as you rub it over the entire image. It softens the cardstock and give it some "bend." Make sure you are using the stampin pierce mat underneath the image.
Voila- A poofy umbrella!
I attached it to the card with a couple of dimensionals under the umbrella.
A little bermuda bay stitched ribbon bow is attached to the handle with a glue dot.
I added the other die cut cloud to the inside of the card.
I'm excited for everyone to make this at class. I hope they like it!
Now, I've got to get back to my class prep work.
Until the next time...
Keep on Stampin' and Come back again soon!
