Stampin' Up! Card Project #1

I wanted to share with you the two projects that I designed to take to my friend Lindas this past week.

The first one is a card that is designed to hold a bookmark. So, two gifts in one for the recipient:)

I used the Picture Perfect stamp set from the Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalog. This set is a "3 step" stamp set. Which means you can layer the stamps up to 3 layers. I used 2 layers of ink for the rose, on this card. I used the soft sky first with the bolder image of the rose and then layered the next rose in wisteria wonder ink, over top the soft sky stamped rose. I did the same with the leaves, using pear pizazz and old olive inks. The bookmark size is 4" x 2 1/4". The little pocket is a strip of pear pizazz cut 6" x 2 3/4"- and folded in half. I then lined it up on my Stampin' Up paper trimmer with the top left corner on the cutting line and the bottom right corner on the 1 1/2" inch mark on my trimmer. This will make that diagonal cut. I used a thin strip of 2 way glue on each side to hold it together to make the "pocket" for the book mark.

Did you ever wonder how to use this long strip of rhinestones? Well, this is the perfect opportunity to trim the bookmark pocket with some sparkle.

I love the finished corners of the card and bookmark. This was created with the Stampin Up Curvy Corner Trio punch. It will even punch through 2 layers at a time. Awesomeness.

Stay tuned for Card Project #2, coming soon!
