Stampin' Up! Bee U Tiful Honeycomb Card

This is a cute card that I whipped up pretty quickly. I love the colors and the simplicity of this Bee U Tiful card. :)

I used the Garden in Bloom stamp set (bee) and the Honeycomb Hello stamp set (hello) for this card.

I also used the Hexagon Hive thinlets. Its one of my favorites. I love the combination of cardstock colors used here- bermuda bay and soft sky, they really compliment each other nicely.

I used watercolor paper to stamp the bees on with basic black archival ink. I then colored in the bees with crushed curry and delightful dijon markers.

You can see here that I used dazzling diamonds glitter to make the wings sparkle. I also applied crystal effects over the wings, stripes and heads of the bees, to make them shine. Oh, and a little strip of crystal effects over the "hello" because its just so fun!

The bees were punched out with the Hexagon punch and I attached the soft sky cardstock over the bermuda bay card with dimensionals, to make it stand out a little more.

Well, I've got to run. I'm as busy as a bee getting ready for my card class and downline meeting this week. So much to do!

Until the next time..

Stamping Technique- Acetate Window Card

I want to share a spring card with you today. I'm so ready for the warmer weather. Winter lasts way too long here in western Pennsylvania.

This is what I call an acetate window card. The acetate functions as a window to the inside of the card.

I stamped the greeting in stazon black ink, which adheres nicely to the acetate and dries quickly.

The stamp set that I used is my favorite flower set in the Stampin' Up! 2015-2016 annual catalog, Flower Patch.

To make this window, you'll need to cut a piece of window sheet (acetate)  4 1/4" x 2 1/2". Cut the front flap of the card off at 2 1/2". Keep the left over piece and cut it into a 1" x 4 1/4" piece to use on the bottom part of the window sheet.

Here's a photo of the inside of the card. I attached the window sheet with snail adhesive.

The colors are crumb cake and whisper white cardstock along with Sweet li'l Things designer paper.  Ink colors are soft sky, so saffron, mint macaron, and watermelon wonder.

I love the unique look of acetate window cards. I hope you'll give it a try and put your own spin on it.

Until next time..

Celebrating 18 Years with Stampin' Up!

Here's a quick card I made with the 2015-2016 "In Colors" ink and cardstocks.

Since this month I will be celebrating 18 years as a Stampin' Up demonstrator, I thought it was appropriate. Yes, you heard right, 18 years! I was almost 8 months pregnant with my third child when I signed up and bought my starter kit.  Seems like a lifetime ago!

So, I've made myself a birthday cake to celebrate. I used cucumber crush, watermelon wonder, and island indigo inks. If you look closely, you can see that I used the "cherry on top" washi tape for the polka dot layer of the cake.

The cardstock colors are soft sky, cucumber crush and whisper white. I added a touch of "cherry on top" designer paper for the banners- which I punched out with the banner punch.

I added some sparkle with the rhinestone jewels on the flags and the dot on the "i".

Here's a close up:

I love the fun use of the washi tape. It adds so much  color to the layers of the cake.

I am fortunate to have been with this company for so many years and especially blessed to have met the people that I've met through stamping and classes.

Thanks to all of you who have been a part of my Stampin' Up! journey. I appreciate and treasure you, your support and your friendship.

Love to all!

Until the next time...

Blogger not Blogging...And a trip to Tampa

Yes, its true. I have been MIA all last week and did not get a chance to blog. I went on a short trip, took my laptop, and I fully intended to blog, but it was after midnight by the time I went to bed each night, and I was way too tired to use my brain to think or my fingers to type.

Me and my friends, Lori and BJ took a quick trip to Tampa, Florida to visit our friend Lucy. It was kind of an impromptu decision, but I am so glad we finally decided to buy a plane ticket and head to Florida for a fun filled five days.

Lucy is the best vacation planner ever. She had our itinerary written up and sent to us via email before we left.  Literally, every moment of the day from 6am until we went to bed after midnight was planned out. All we had to do was show up!

Here we are at Cee Bee's Citrus Groves, our first stop once we stepped foot off of the airplane. The sun was super warm and BRIGHT, as you can tell by my glamorous facial expression.

We actually went to two Citrus Groves and got lots of oranges and lemons that Lucy made into fresh squeezed juice all week. Yum!

This is the amazing sunset we witnessed that evening at Fred Howard Park.

One of our day trips was to the Happiest Place on Earth- you guessed it- WALT DISNEY WORLD!

Here we are getting our photo with Tinkerbell. How cute is she??

We had dinner at the Crystal Palace with Winnie the Pooh and friends.

This is the beautiful castle and amazing fireworks. It was a spectacular show. I took so many photos of the castle, it was difficult to choose just one.

We did so many wonderful things and went to so many great places. We visited The Florida Aquarium, The Manatee viewing center, The Chihuly Glass Exhibit, the Citrus Groves, Tarpon Springs ( the sponge capitol of the world- and yes, we bought sponges), The Dali Museum, Floridays Resort, shopping, great restuarants, parks and Walt Disney World of course. We didn't make it to Honeymoon Island beach as planned, but thats okay. It gives us another reason to go back!

This is the Dali Museum and the melting clock bench.

We had such a fantastic time. I have to say, we could have filled several buckets from the tears that were shed from laughing so hard during this trip. It was great to have the special time to visit and catch up. I truly value the friendship I have with these three amazing, talented, intelligent and beautiful women that I've known since Jr. High School. I am blessed beyond measure to have these lovely ladies in my life. I thank Lucy for her generousity and hospitality and for making sure we had a super special vacation and I thank all of them for making me laugh, loving me and especially for keeping the secrets that we share ;)

No blog post would be complete without handstamped cards.... So, I'm sharing two cards that remind me of our special friendship:

This card uses the Sprinkles of Life stamp set and coordinating Tree Builder Punch.

This card uses the You're Sublime stamp set and the super cool " Color Me Irresistable" designer paper.

I used the Itty Bitty Accents epoxy stickers for the frogs eyes- "toadally" makes them pop :)

I am so lucky to call them my friends and they are toadally awesome!

Thanks again for a great trip, my friends.

Until the next time..

Keep on Stampin and Come back again soon!

Fun Mail

I was so excited to see this sweet card in my mailbox today. It was a congratulations card from one of my uplines in Stampin' Up!, Connie. She sent me a card to congratulate me on my monthly sales. It was so nice of her to think of me.

Connie used the "What I Love" stamp set from the Sale a Bration Brochure. This set is FREE with a $50 purchase.

The colors of the ink and cardstock that she used, are rich razzleberry and cucumber crush. I would have never thought to put these two colors together, but they look great! The rich razzleberry ink was stamped off once to give the lighter look to the flower and then used without stamping off first to give the darker outline on the flower.

Thank you Connie, for the great card and the fun surprise in my mailbox!

Until the next time,
