Stampin' Up! Inspiration in my Mailbox

I received a darling card in my mailbox today from my 3rd level upline in Stampin' Up!, Connie Heisey. She sent me this card to congratulate me on my monthly sales.

I thought it was just the sweetest little card. So perfectly simple. It was made with the Grateful Bunch stamp set from the Stampin Up Occasions Catalog.

It was just so darling, that it inspired me to get out my Grateful Bunch stamp set and create a card following Connie's lovely example.

Here's the card that Connie sent to me: Connie used pool party and crumb cake cardstock, black archival and so saffron inks and an old olive stampin' write marker to color in the leaves. I love how the pool party pops off of the crumb cake background.

I designed a pretty in pink card, inspired by Connie's design. I used pink pirouette, sahara sand and pear pizzaz cardstocks. I colored in the flower with stampin' write markers in pink pirouette, pear pizazz, old olive and crushed curry. The fun corners were punched with the Curvy Corner Trio punch in the Stampin' Up Occasions Catalog.

The card trim at the bottom is from the Love Blossoms designer paper pack and the pink pirouette candy dots were added for interest and dimension.

Here's a close up of the dazzling details glitter that I dotted on around the center of the flower.

Here they are together. It really is difficult for me to do a "sweet and simple" card, but I gave it my best shot. (a girl's got to embellish...)

This really is a super pretty stamp set. I hope you get a tidbit of inspiration from Connie's card too.

Stampin' Up! "Picture Perfect" Starfish

I was in my stamp room playing around with some ideas and decided to make a beachy card. I guess, I'm longing for some warm weather.

The last time that I used the "Picture Perfect" stamp set, from the Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalog, I focused on the hummingbird and rose images.

This time, its all about the starfish.

I used crumb cake and tip top taupe inks to stamp the 2-step starfish. Then I sponged around the edges of the "Deco Label" framelits with a sponge dipped in crumb cake ink. The sponging really softens the edges and gives it a rustic look.

The cardstocks are tip top taupe, pool party, soft sky and very vanilla. I used the "Decorative Dots" embossing folder on the pool party cardstock to give it a "bubbly ocean" feel.

 I also used the "Deco Label" framelits to frame the starfish image. Very vanilla cardstock was used for the smallest label and the "Love Blossoms" designer paper stack from the Stampin' Up! Occasions catalog, was used for the larger deco label frame.

I added detail and dimension with the pearl jewels and the chevron and gold ribbons. Both of these embellishments, scream-"beachy!"

The 1/8" gold ribbon was tied around the knot of the chevron ribbon. It adds a bit of color and sparkle to this beachy card.

I can almost hear the ocean and smell the salty air...

And feel the sand between my toes...

I do believe that this card is "some kind of wonderful" just as the greeting states.

Mixing It Up A Bit

I went for fancy and fabulous with this soft, but sparkly card that I am sharing with you today.

I mixed it up a bit by using a couple of different framelit dies, punches and ribbons, along with some extra sparkle.

For this card I used the Watercolor Wings stamp set and coordinating Bold Butterfly framelits. I also used the Floral Frames framelits. ( say that three times fast) So, I started by using pink pirouette and shimmery white cardstock. I embossed the background with the Elegant Dots emboss folder. The cool thing about this folder is that it coordinates with the Happy Patterns masks. Did you notice how I used the mask to lay over the embossed dots- then sponged it with mint macron ink? Pretty cool huh?

I used the Floral frames for the pink pirouette flower and a 2 1/2" circle punch for the middle of the flower, where I stamped the verse from the Watercolor Wings stamp set in early espresso ink. I die cut the "pink pirouette" butterfly and the "dazzling diamonds glimmer paper" butterfly from the Bold Butterfly framelits. Then I layered a mint macaron butterfly on top, which I punched out with the Bitty Butterfly punch.

You can see that I stamped dots in mint macron ink, onto the small butterfly and added crystal effects to make the dots pop. I also added a line of crystal effects over the words of the verse to add dimension and shine.

I used a 2 way glue pen to outline the circle and sprinkled dazzling diamonds glitter over top. It ties in with the "dazzling diamonds glimmer paper" butterfly quite nicely. Some Silver Metalic thread and a Metal Rimmed Pearl top it off.

Of course before I attached this centerpiece to the card, I added the gorgeous White Jute Ribbon and Blushing Bride Sequin Trim.

This card will definitely be sent to someone special!

I hope you will mix it up and try a soft feminine card with a bunch of sparkle, just like this one.

Weekly Deals : March 15th thru 21st Plus a few cards to share

 A few cards to share, made by demonstrator friends from across the country. All stamp sets are from the Stampin' Up Occasions Catalog and the Sale a bration Brochure.

 These cards use the Sale a bration stamp set: "Botanicals for You." Its free with a $50 order. The Perfectly Artistic designer paper and metalic doilies look awesome with this set.

This is another Sale a bration set- "Flowering Fields." Its also free with a $50 order. This card also uses the coordinating Wildflower Fields designer paper. The flowers were colored by using stampin write markers directly on the rubber of the stamp and then stamping on the cardstock.

One of my favorites: Rose Wonder stamp set and Rose Garden thinlit dies were used with blushing bride cardstock and a few gold sequins.

Stampin Up! Picture Perfect Hummingbird

I haven't had a chance to use this set much, so today I sat down to create a pretty little card with this sweet set.

I love both the hummingbird image and the roses. So, of course I wanted to use them both on this card. This is a 3-step stamp set, which means that the stamps can be layered on top of each other to create dimension. The stamps can also be used as 2-step images and some of them can be used by themselves as well.

I used them in a 3-step fashion. Which means that the flowers, leaves and hummingbird were all stamped in 3 separate colors each and stacked over top the previous stamped image. When using 2 or 3 step stamps, always start with the bolder stamp in the lightest color and then work your way to the darker colors.

 I used soft sky, marina mist, old olive and calypso coral inks for the hummingbird. The flowers were stamped in marina mist, and lost lagoon and the leaves were stamped in pear pizazz, old olive and mossy meadow.

Can you see the sparkle? I applied dazzling diamonds glitter with a 2-way glue pen on the hummingbird and roses.

I added candy dots and pearls to each side of the greeting to give it dimension and interest.

This set is so beautiful and elegant. Its "picture perfect." Looking forward to seeing a few hummingbirds swooping into my garden this spring.

Easy Cards for New Stampers

I have a workshop this week with all new stampers. Its a fun story as to how I got this booking.

I was doing a workshop at a pizza shop for one of my regular hostesses. We were suppose to have the back room of the pizza shop, but somehow my hostess was double booked. That meant we had to do our party right out front in the main part of the restuarant.

So, no problem. Have stamps, will make do! As the party was ending, one of the employees asked what the party was all about. She ended up placing an order AND booking a workshop too.

I am excited to get to show her and her guests the fundamentals of stamping. They are big scrapbookers, so I know they will love everything about this craft.

Here are two cards that we will make at the worshop. I'm keeping it simple and sweet.

I used the Party Wishes stamp set and coordinating Party Punch Pack punches. I attached some of the balloons with dimensionals and added a rhinestone jewel for sparkle.

The second card uses the Sprinkles of Life stamp set and matching punch.

 

If you look verrry closely, you can see that I used the Wink of Stella brush in clear to add some shimmer.

These are the two cards the we will be making at the workshop.

I hope they like them.

I'm excited to share my love of stamping with these women and introduce them to a whole new world of crafting!
