New Years Sneak Peek & Something Super Cool from the Occasions Catalog

Here's a fun share from the New Occasions Catalog.

Its from one of my most favorite stamp sets in the catalog, called "Cool Treats."

This is a two step stamp set, so there are images to layer, like the hot fudge pictured on the cone. Not only is it a two step stamp set, it also has a coordinating framelit die set, called "Frozen Treats." It is so awesome, you will love it!

Notice the backdrop? Its a sheet of the matching designer paper, called "Tasty Treats" - this piece looks like a waffle cone pattern, but there are also 11 other designs and some have shiny clear epoxy on them.

There is also one page in the New Occasions Catalog that happens to be my very favorite... Its actually the back cover.

I was excited to see myself with my BFF Cindy sharing a smile and a hug on the back cover of the New Occasions Catalog 2017. How super cool is that?

My parents and kids think I'm famous now. lol.

But, seriously, I am ever so grateful to that I joined Stampin' Up! many years ago and met so many people who have become like family to me. Its been an amazing 18 years!

I have lots more to share, as I've had a day to play already. So come back in 2017 to see more. And be sure to check out my Bff and I on the back of your catalog!

To all of you from me: Have a Happy Blessed New Year!

Until the next time...

Sneak Peek- New Stampin Up Occasions Catalog

As promised, I have a sneak peek of some new  2017 Occasions Catalog products. The Catalog goes live on January 4th!

I designed a Valentine card with some new fun stuff! You all know how much I love making Valentines. I guess I just love the hearts and pretties.

For this card I used the new stamp set "Love Sparkles." I stamped the word love in versamark ink and then embossed it with the new "real red" glitter embossing powder.

I also used the new "Falling Petals" emboss folder. I turned the folder upside down so that it looked like falling hearts instead of falling petals. Take a look at the new "Sending Love" designer paper. Its 48 6x6 sheets of eight double sided designs. So pretty!

Don't you just love how the red glimmer paper matches the sparkle of the real red glitter embossing powder?

I made a bunch of these for a demonstrator swap that I participated in.

Start thinking about what you'll make for Valentine's this year. Its not too far away. There are lots of great ideas and products to choose from in the New Occasions Catalog. You're going to love it!

Birthday Trip and an Unexpected Birthday Card

I want to share a few beautiful photos of the trip to Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh that we took on my birthday. My two friends, Lori, BJ and I have been to Phipps in the past, but never at Christmas.

The gardens are decorated and lit with stunning displays of flowers and lights for the holidays. Its just breath-taking in person.

The photos are pretty, but it should really been seen in person to really appreciate the beauty.

This is the what it looks like as you enter the Conservatory.

The snowman is made of a bunch of white hydrangeas.

We had to get a few selfies while we were there!

Rows and rows of Poinsettias.

Rows and rows of Christmas Trees. I think this was the birthday girl chair...

Very cool outdoors displays as well.

These were some of my favorites.

We even witnessed a proposal on the other end of this archway.

Check out these super cool tubes that lit our pathway.

Pink Poinsettia heaven.

One last photo of one of the beautiful trees and an ice skating reindeer.

It was a fun trip and my friends even took me to dinner afterward. If you are in the Pittsburgh area from now thru January 11th, stop by Phipps Conservatory to get a first hand look at the gorgeous displays while they are still up.

Meanwhile, back at home... I received this birthday card in the mail from Shannon West. Shannon works at Stampin' Up's! home office in Riverton, Utah. The most amazing thing about getting this card is that Shannon actually had a heart attack on my birthday and still managed to get this card to me a few days later. Unbelievable. Shannon is okay and doing well, I'm happy to report. This is even one of my favorite birthday stamps in the Stampin' Up! catalog. Marque Messages- how did she know?

She even took time to write a sweet note:

I hope YOU are doing well Shannon and I'm so thankful that you were able to celebrate Christmas at home with your family.

I'm glad you all stopped by my blog today... I hope you enjoyed seeing photos of my little trip to Phipps.

Come back tomorrow,  for a sneak peek of the New Occasions Catalog which debuts on January 4th.

Until then,

Christmas Cards

I wanted to share a few more Christmas cards that I've received. I haven't had time to take photos of all of them, but I did get a few quick pictures of the 3 cards that I am sharing today.

These cards are from a few wonderful friends and customers. All of them so very creative and talented. I was delighted to open my mailbox to find these beautiful works of art today.

The top card was made by Anna Miller of PA. Anna used heat a stick powder and gold glitter to create the sparkle and glimmer on the word JOY. (which is my middle name btw :)  The bottom card is made by Raelene Ellenberger of PA. Raelene used the Stampin' Up! November Paper Pumpkin kit to make this card. She added some extra special detail of her own to make this soft, pretty card, extra special.

One more card to share real quick... This shiny gold santa card was made by Sharen Dixon of PA. I love that Sharen used the gold foil paper to create this look. The tiny gold stars in the top corner really make this card a stand out.

I hope you enjoyed these beautiful Christmas cards as much as I did.

I have some more fun to share from my birthday, but that will have to wait.

Its almost Christmas... I've still got a few things to finish before the big day.

I wish all of you a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and the Best New Year ever!

Until next time...

A Special Birthday Surprise from the Aloha State

I found a big birthday box on my front porch today. I was so excited to scoop it up, bring it inside and tear it open. I knew it was from my bf Cindy who lives on Oahu. She always remembers my birthday and makes me feel so special.

So, when I opened the box, I found another box inside with the word "joy" on it. Well, my middle name is Joy and I knew Cindy chose that box just for that reason, because she plans the perfect gift right down to the smallest detail. As you can see, Cindy added a few Christmas treats as well. You can check out how she made these items on her blog: Stamped with Aloha.

Look what was inside that cute box.. Be still my heart, its a PINK PINEAPPLE ornament and a beautiful handstamped pink pineapple in a shiny mirrored frame.

Sparkle, glitter and bling, everything I love in a birthday gift, or any gift for that matter.

Here's a close up of the special details of the pinepple picture. Cindy used the Pineapple stamp from Stampin' Up! and bedazzled it with rhinestone jewels that she colored with a light pink sharpie. Did you notice the background paper- its a sneak peek of our new designer paper in the New Sale a Bration brochure to be released on January 4th. It can be colored in with markers or watercolored, or just left as is, as shown here.

Cindy also added a sweet note with this adorable reindeer "sweater" card that she lovingly stamped just for me.

I'm so excited to place my new pink pineapple on the Christmas tree, the gorgeous handstamped pineapple on my desk in my office and wear my sparkly earrings during the holidays.

Cindy made my birthday even more special with the thoughtful gifts she chose for me and the beautiful picture that she handstamped especially for a pink pineapple lover like me.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Until the next time...

Christmas Preparations and a few Christmas cards from friends

So, what have I been doing for the past couple of days? I've been preparing for Christmas! As I'm sure many of you are scurrying around just as I am getting those "last minute" things done.

However, I have had my decorations and tree up for a few weeks. I'm always glad to have the tree up early so we can enjoy it for a whole month.

I've actually been baking A LOT the last couple of days. Dozens of cookies and candies are now finished and ready to pass out to friends and family.

Here's a some of the cookies that I made- these are my kids favorites: chocolate chip oatmeal, peanut butter cup and peanut butter blossom cookies.

I also tried making these cream wafers for the first time myself. We made these in Florida for my godsons wedding and they were so good that I had to add them to the Christmas cookie list this year.

They're not perfect, but they are yummy.

I also made a double batch of what we call "Junk Mix" this stuff is so addicting, that's why I only make it once a year. Pretzels, Chex and Cheerios cereal, M&M's all drizzled with white chocolate. What's not to love?

In the midst of all my baking, I enjoyed opening a few hand stamped Christmas cards from a few wonderfully creative friends.

This is the highlight of getting the mail this time of year.. especially when the cards are handmade and hand stamped. I appreciate the time and love that were put into these gorgeous cards.

Here's a quick picture of a few of my favorites:  Top left from Robyn Cardon: Utah, Top right from Tammy May: PA, Bottom left from Lori Wiest, PA and Bottom right from Debbie Davidson: South Carolina

Here's a close up of some of the details:

How blessed am I to receive such a beautiful assortment of holiday cheer?!

I hope you are getting your last minute preparations underway for the holidays as well.

Thanks for taking the time to check in today.

Until the next time...
