Stampin Up - Dragonfly Dreams Elegance
Unique Card Folds: Dutch Door Fold with Cool Treats stamp set

Aqua Wash Technique, featuring: "Lift Me Up" stamp set.

I had a lot of fun with this new technique today. Its called Aqua Wash with markers. This is a very pretty watercolor background technique that can be used with pretty much any stamp set or detailed dies.

This technique is super easy and super cool. You'll need the Stampin Up watercolor paper or shimmery white paper, an aqua painter and some markers in various colors. You'll also need to grab a quart sized ziplock bag.

For this card, I used the Lift Me Up stamp set and coordinating Up and Away thinlits. As I mentioned, I used the watercolor paper as well as the melon mambo, pumpkin pie and daffodil delight Stampin Write Markers.

Here's a card using the elegant eggplant, wisteria wonder and rich razzleberry markers along with the aqua painters:

I've created a quick tutorial for you...

First scribble on a ziplock bag with your markers.

Next, use your aqua painter to brush water onto your watercolor paper, kind of in a zig zag motion.

Then, you will turn the bag over so that the ink is facing down and smoosh it into your watercolor paper.

Lift up the bag and voila!

Lastly, let it dry either naturally or zap it with a heat tool and apply the Lift Me Up diecut hot air ballon and embellishments.

This one, I used the basic black cardstock for the hot air balloon, instead of the whisper white cardstock.
