Fun Times! Its time for another Layered Alphabet card!

Its been awhile since I've posted a card made with my absolute favorite stamp set and dies of all time- the Lined Alphabet and Layering Alphabet dies.

This is so fun- literally! I used lots of bright, happy colors for a special birthday greeting.

IMG_2971

I used the new "In Colors" lovely lipstick, grapefruit grove, pineapple punch and call me clover as well as basic black. I also used the coordinating ribbon colors of lovely lipstick, grapefruit grove and call me clover. I simply tied the ribbon around the card and knotted it.

IMG_2970

The polka dotted paper is the In Color Designer paper pack- it also contains the blueberry bushel in color and the pack has several different patterns as well. I used the same color inks on the stamped letters and memento black for the greeting which was stamped with the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set.

IMG_2969

The designer papers were all cut to 3.5 x 3.5 inches before die cutting. I also used the 3/4" circle punch for the & sign and attached it with a mini dimensional. Check out the video below to learn how to use the Layering Alphabet dies. This bundle should definitely be on your wish list soon!

I'll be blogging about my Stampin Up Alaskan Cruise trip this week, so be sure to stop back!

Stampin Up Serene Garden Dove

I'm sharing a card that we made at Card Class recently. Its from the  Serene Garden stamp set. This is one of my favorites. I love that this set has a coordinating Framelit set that has both cutting and embossing dies included.

IMG_3536

Whisper white, coastal cabana and balmy blue are the cardstocks used as well as coastal cabana ink.

IMG_3537

As you can see, I used the embossing die on this card. I also used it a few posts back if you want to check it out again. I love the effect this gives. When using the new embossing dies, you'll need the new Big Shot embossing mats. I'll have the supplies listed below for you to see.

IMG_3541

I wrapped the card in the white polka dot tulle ribbon and added a coastal cabana glitter dot to the knot. I also added a few pearls to hightlight the small balmy blue flowers.

IMG_3540

I love using these two colors together. I also used the Itty Bitty Greetings set for the verse. This set is sure getting a lot of use! I love it.

Stampin Up: Little Elephant and Matching Elephant Punch

So how about a super bright baby card? I used the Little Elephant bundle for this one. The Little Elephant stamp set also has a matching Elephant punch. How cool is that?

IMG_3303

I used the new pineapple punch ink and cardstock as well as the new gray granite. Packs a little punch, right?

IMG_3305

How sweet is the new Tufted emboss folder? I love this look- kind of reminds me of a baby quilt.

IMG_3309

I added the Stitched Labels Framelits to layer the elephants on. It makes the perfect frame. I also added a few Basic Adhesive Backed Sequins and Silver Metallic Pearls for the eyes.

IMG_3311

You can check out the full list of supplies below this post.

IMG_3308

I made this card as a swap for some special people on my Stampin UP Alaskan Cruise. Which is most likely where I am as you read this.

IMG_3313

Who says baby cards have to be soft pastel colors? Anything goes, am I right?

How To: Card Fold with Stampin Up's Broadway Birthday Stamp Set

I made this super sparkly, bright, happy birthday card for a card swap that I host with other Stampin Up Demonstrators all over the country IMG_3141

I love this vintage style, cool and funky stamp set. This set has coordinating dies called Broadway Lights that work so perfectly for that marque look.

This card has a unique fold in front. Its super easy too!

IMG_3145

I used the Broadway Bound designer paper as well as basic black, lovely lipstick, lemon lime twist, gold foil and gold glimmer paper. I stamped the greeting in granny apple green. I used the Birthday Backgrounds stamp set and stamped it onto the lovely lipstick cardstock in the same color ink for a tone on tone look.

IMG_3143

I have a full list of supplies listed below for you.

IMG_3144

Here's a peek at the inside. I used the candles from the Broadway Birthday set as well.

IMG_3142

For the card I used a basic black card size 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 when folded. ( the size before folding in half is 4 1/4 x 11.  I then took the top right corner and folded it down to evenly line up with the bottom of the card.

IMG_3157

IMG_3158

Open it back up and apply adhesive really well so that the flap stays down.

IMG_3166

I used the Layering Circle Framelits for the scallop circle as well as the lovely lipstick circle and attached them on the front flap.

  IMG_3138
For the sizes of the designer paper: the polka dot is cut a 4 x 1" and for the stripes I took a piece cut at 4x4. Next line the opposite points up on the cutting line of your Stampin Trimmer and cut - you will have 2 triangles. Save one for another card. :)

IMG_3146

Heres a whole bunch of them!

IMG_3147

All kinds of fun patterns in the Broadway Bound designer paper pack!

IMG_3150

So super shiny and sparkly. I liked it so much that I even made one for my bff for her birthday.

IMG_3152

This was a lot of glimmer and glitz going into my mailbox!

IMG_3153

I hope you enjoyed the quick tutorial - you should give it a try. I'm pretty sure that we will be making this one at my next card class too!

Soft Seafoam & Serene Garden

I'm in love with the new soft seafoam ink and cardstock color that Stampin Up introduced last month. Its so soft and pretty and perfect used with the Serene Garden bundle.

IMG_3179

I paired it with some blush blossom flowers and metallic pink ribbon. This bundle is amazing! The framelits include cutting and embossing dies. I've only used the cutting dies for this card, but you can see a sample with the embossing dies, by clicking here.

IMG_3182

The little label is made from one of the dies in the new Stitched Label framelits set. This is the same set that I've made all those little stitched hearts on previous cards that I've posted.

IMG_3180

I used tear tape to hold the ribbon in place which I wrapped around the whisper white cardstock. The pearls are from the Share What You Love pearl pack. They match perfectly with the pinks on this card.

I also used the new Itty Bitty Greetings for the verse on the front and stamped it in soft sea foam for a tone on tone look.

IMG_3181

Its definitely a soft and "serene" greeting card and perfect for a get well or sympathy card.

Thanks for taking a look.

How To: Card Fold with Rooted in Nature stamps

I'm sharing a card I made for my upcoming, Stampin' Up! Alaskan Cruise swap. Stampin' Up! hosts a swap between all of the demonstrators that earned the trip and they swap them for us.

I'm excited to be cruising with some of my favorite people from my association with Stampin' Up over these past 20 years. Its always so fun to see my friends that I don't get to see that often.

Anyway.. I designed a card made with the Rooted in Nature stamp set and dies. It has a unique little fold in the middle that opens up to insert a greeting.

IMG_3178

I used as the card base, one piece of 5 1/2 x 4 1/4" crumb cake cardstock. The designer paper is from the Natures Poem designer paper pack. This is one of the papers that is on special this month for the Buy 3 get one Free promotion. I cut these two pieces 1 x 4" and attached them to the top and bottom of the card.

IMG_3175

The middle fold is a piece of shaded spruce cardstock cut at 8 x 3" and folded in half. Then attached to the middle of the card. I cut a piece of crumb cake and a piece of whisper white for the outside and inside of the fold at 3 3/4 x 2 3/4".

The tree was die-cut with the coordinating Natures Roots framelits. I inked the tree in mint macaron and wiped the ink off of the trunk with a paper towel and inked it with a crumb cake marker before I stamped it on whisper white cardstock.

IMG_3177

A peek at the inside.

The verse was stamped in shaded spruce ink and I hand cut it apart and attached it in pieces.

I then added two mint macaron Faceted Dots to the bottom left corner to pull it all together.

IMG_3176

I hope whoever receives my swap, likes it and is still suprised! lol.

You should give this easy fold a try. Its so simple and quite unique. The Rooted in Nature set works great with this layout and is perfect for a manly card too!
