Brusho

Tutti Frutti Pineapple Card with a splash of Brusho

Here's a super simple and super cute pineapple card made with the Tutti Frutti designer paper.

IMG_0495

I added crumb cake and whisper white cardstock as well as dazzling diamonds glimmer paper.

Did you notice the splash of color on the glimmer paper? I used the yellow Brusho and sprinkled it on then spritzed it with water and blotted the excess water with a paper towel. Here's another post where I first used Brusho on glimmer paper.

IMG_0496

The pineapples aren't stamped, but are cut out from the Tutti Frutti designer paper. I layered them on 3 squares of cardstock, 2x2 glimmer paper, 2 1/4" crumb cake and 2 1/2" whisper white.

I added a Tutti Frutti sequin and a rhinestone jewel to the middle of the crumb cake ribbon.

The pineapples were attached with mini dimensionals.

Cute and simple on the inside too. The greeting is from the coordinating Fruit Basket stamp set.

I adore this paper and the entire Tutti Frutti suite!

Brusho Butterfly

Here's another Brusho creation with the Beautiful Day stamp set. This set was designed to perfectly pair with the Brusho dyes.

I posted the flower from the Beautiful Day stamp set that I made with the red Brusho powder and today I'll share the butterfly from the same stamp set. I used the blue and yellow Brusho this time around. I paired those colors with the lemon lime twist, night of navy and watercolor paper.

IMG_0117

I first sprinkled the blue and the yellow brusho on dry watercolor paper. I then spritzed it heavily with water from about 8-10 inches away, until the paper was fairly wet all over. I wanted the colors to blend well, so I made sure to spritz it well. Instead of letting it dry on its own, I took a paper towel and layed it flat on the paper and soaked up the excess water. I then dried it with my heat tool for about 20 seconds.

IMG_0044

I then cut a 3'' x 3 3/4" piece from this piece of watercolor paper. I embossed the butterfly over it with white emboss powder, and added a few Glitter Enamel shapes and lemon lime twist ribbon.

Its so bright and sunny. I love how the Brusho technique turned out!

Brusho and Beautiful Day stamp set

If you follow me on Facebook, you probably saw my Brusho swatches that I was playing around with. Well, I made them into cards.

I will share the first one with you today.

I used the big, bold, beautiful flower from the Beautiful Day stamp set as well as the Brilliant Red Brusho powder.

IMG_0122

I used watercolor paper for my first attempt at Brusho. I wet the paper first with an aqua painter. I then sprinkled the brilliant red brusho and a little bit of gamboge (orange) brusho onto the wet paper. Then spritzed it with water again from about 4" away.

IMG_0041

I wanted it to dry fast so that I could emboss over it, so I used my heat tool to dry it. I then used white emboss powder and embossed the flower over it and cut it out.

  IMG_0124

For the leaf, I did the same as above, only with the moss green brusho and cut it out and adhered the leaf onto the red flower. I backed it with the gorgeous Petal Passion designer paper, black shimmer ribbon and a few rhinestones in the middle of the flower.

I'm really enjoying the brusho and all the unique combinations that can be created with it. I have more to share so come back again soon!

Magical Day and a Bit of Brusho

Oh my goodness. I had so much fun creating this mermaid card today. I went a little wild and over the top, but, that's the way I roll.

The Magical Day stamp set and coordinating Magical Mates dies are absolutely fabulous! You may have passed this set by in the Occasions catalog, thinking its just for kids. But, I'm here to tell you, first of all, YES, the kids in your family will absolutely LOVE receiving cards made with this set, and secondly, YOU will love making cards and scrapbook pages with this charming suite. The stamps, dies, designer paper, glimmer paper and washi tape- they all coordinate and look amazing together!

So, here's the card. There is something else super cool about this card, that I will point out, in a minute. Are you seeing it?

IMG_0088

Did you notice the turquoise and the iridescent glimmer paper? Its from the new Myths and Magic glimmer paper pack. So, I thought it would be cool to try the new Brusho on the iridescent glimmer paper! It turned out so cool. I sprinkled 5-6 shakes of the Prussian Blue Brusho onto the dry glimmer paper. I then spritzed it with water a few times from about 8" away. Then, I took a paper towel and sopped up the excess water. Viola! It looks awesome! You saw it HERE FIRST folks. Can't wait to play with the brusho on glimmer paper with more colors as well.

IMG_0084

I cut the waves and the mermaids with the Magical Mates dies. I didn't want the waves lined up perfectly straight, so I offset them a little. The Mermaids were colored with the Stampin Blends Alcohol Markers.

IMG_0085

I used silver emboss powder to emboss the Magical day greeting and cut it out with the dies.

IMG_0083

Can you see the little Clear Glitter Epoxy bubble's?

I added a bunch.. I love these little bubbles. So perfect for under the sea.

I adore these little mermaids. I couldn't decide if I liked the blonde, brunette or redhead better, so I used all three!

IMG_0100

I used a LOT of ribbon on this card. I wanted to tie in all the sparkly colors of the card with the ribbon colors.

IMG_0097

I kept the inside very simple... as the outside was so over the top.

IMG_0096

This card sparkles and glitters from every angle. I wish you could see it in person.

IMG_0098

I used so many dimensionals on this super layered up, magical card. I think I set a record.

IMG_0095

Three little Mermaids wishing you a Magical Day. It doesn't get much better than that.

IMG_0101

I hope you, go back a take a look at the Magical Day stamp set in the Occasions Catalog. *link on sidebar* Its not just for kids (who by the way, think this is the best set ever!) its for us big people too!
