Card Folds

How To: Fun Fold using the Stampin Up Birthday Cheer bundle

I love the colors of this fun fold birthday card. The various shades of coastal cabana and lovely lipstick, create kind of an ombre stripe on the front of this card.

IMG_9372I used the "Marbled" background stamp on this inside of this card. I think this background goes quite well with anything I pair it with!

IMG_9375The fold on this card is a simple z fold. Fold the whisper white 4 1/4 x 11 piece in half. Then fold the front flap back to meet the original fold. Thats it. I added a piece of 4 1/4 x 31/4 coastal cabana cardstock to the front of the folded back flap. Be sure not to add adhesive to the right side of the coastal cabana piece.

IMG_9370The die cut gifts are cut from a piece of 4 x 3 whisper white. I love the look of these gifts against the "How Sweet it Is" designer paper. I also stamped the flap of the card with in coastal cabana, using a stars and dots stamp from the Birthday Cheer stamp set.

IMG_9374

IMG_9373The greetings are stamped in basic black ink and the greeting on the front is punched out with the Classic Label punch.

IMG_9369

I added a few sparkling, self adhesive, Twinkle, sequin stars to the front to make it shine. The Coastal Cabana/Granny Apple Green satin ribbon is a 4" piece tied in a knot and attached with a glue dot.

Isn't it just so fun?

How To: Easy Fold with Amazing Life stamps

I've got 3 cards with the same fold and same stamp set to show you today. I decided to use bright and fun greens, night of navy and pineapple punch colors for these Amazing Life greeting cards.

The first card is a wish for good luck- with St. Patricks day right around the corner, I thought it was appropriate.

IMG_8469The fold is very simple: fold a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" granny apple green cardstock in half... then fold the front flap up to meet the fold. Thats it!

IMG_8471 IMG_8468
Each card features a "Happiness Blooms" Enamel dot. Can you spot all 3? I also used the "Happiness Blooms designer paper on all of the cards as well.

IMG_8474

This birthday card also features the new Stitched Rectangle dies as does the other two cards. The dies add just the right amount of texture.

IMG_8473All 3 cards are also colored with the night of navy, pineapple punch, granny apple green and call me clover Stampin Blends alcohol markers.

IMG_8465This card is the same size as the others and its also folded in the same way, except its vertical instead of horizontal.

IMG_8466 IMG_8467
Are you liking all the green? Well, it is almost St. Patty's day.. right?

I hope you like this stamp set, it really is a great versatile set for many fun occasions.

I glad you stopped by!

How To: Shaker Card using Sweetest Thing candy jar bundle

I'm a huge fan of shaker cards and this Sweetest Thing bundle was the perfect set to use for this fun shaker card that we made recently at my Card Class. I used 2 different ideas from 2 of my stampin friends, Lynsay Mahon and Amy Storrie, to design this sweet birthday card.

IMG_8463The whole Sweetest Thing suite is so yummy! I used the How Sweet It Is designer paper as well as the new two tone ribbon and some fun Iridescent sequins.

IMG_8462

First I stamped the jar on a 2 x 3 inch piece of whisper white cardstock and colored it in with my Stampin Blends alcohol markers. I then cut out the jar with the Jar Of Sweets dies in the middle of the 4x3" How Sweet It Is designer paper. Next, I attached a piece of 2.5  x 3 inch window sheet on the back side of the designer paper with snail adhesive.

IMG_8476I then used Foam Strips cut into pieces to place closely around the jar. Next, I filled the jar with Iredescent sequins, peeled off the paper from the foam strips to expose the sticky adhesive and then attached the window sheet piece over top- lining up the cut out jar with the stamped jar.

IMG_8460I attached the Coastal Cabana/Granny Apple Green ribbon around the pinepple punch cardstock before attaching to the highland heather card. I then added the greeting in lovely lipstick ink.

IMG_8464Shake, Shake, Shake.... isn't this an adorable birthday card?

I hope you'll give this shaker card a try!

How to: Unique Fold- Cauldron Bubble Bundle

One last cute Trick or Treat card before Halloween arrives, using the Cauldron Bubble Bundle. I've used this unique card fold a few times lately and we also did this card at my Card Class recently.

For instructions and measurements, see my previous blog post here.

IMG_5773

For the most part there isn't much stamping on this card. The images all come from the Toil and Trouble designer series paper. The cat was die cut with the coordinating framelits.

IMG_5777

Its hard to tell from the photo, but the bats were punched out with the Spooky Bat punch from a piece of the new Black Foil sheets. They are slick and shiny!

I used the new Buffalo Plaid background stamp, inked in mango melody ink and stamped on mango melody cardstock for the inside of the card.

IMG_5774

The New Swirls and Curls emboss folder was used on the bottom of the card. I used pumpkin pie cardstock and then rubbed a cajun craze inkpad across the swirls. I love the cool look and it really defines the swirls.

Here's a peek at the inside:

IMG_5775

The bright colors of halloween are so fun to use... it really makes this card pop!

I've attached the gorgeous new Black Glitter Ribbon with a mini glue dot. This ribbon is not just for halloween. I've been using it on everything- Christmas cards included!

IMG_5776

I hope you're getting your halloween cards ready- trick or treat will be here before you know it!

Triangle Flap Fold Card with Animal Outing

I'm sharing another card made with the fun fold that I shared in my last post. This time, I've used the adorable Animal Outing stamp set and suite. I made several of these cards with different Frames Elements embellishments. This one has the Leaf Ribbon and the Frames elements leaf and heart embellishments. I colored the heart with a real red Stampin Blends alcohol marker and the leaf spray with the old olive marker.

IMG_E4708

Here's another design with different elements. Notice the strip of circles at the bottom of the card above?

IMG_4713

Remember, when you cut the 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock in half diagonally, you can use the other half of the cardstock as well. It will just open in the opposite direction.

To read instructions on how to make this card- see my last post here:How To Triangle Flap Fold

IMG_4711

I attached the Leaf Ribbon with mini glue dots under the leaves. No coloring on this wreath, it looks good in its natural color.

IMG_4714

This one opens on the opposite side from the one above, because I used the other half of the diagonally cut cardstock.

IMG_4712

I've attached the wooden elements with multi purpose glue. It works perfectly! Check out the cute scallop element on the bottom of the card above. So cute!

IMG_4717

The Call Me Clover cardstock matches the Leaf ribbon exactly!

IMG_4718

This has got to be the cutest "safari" set I've ever seen- Animal Outing is adorable!

IMG_E4720

The whole suite coordinates like a dream.

IMG_E4709

Its such a fun set to use all year for many different occasions, like birthdays, valentines, anniversaries, thank you's,  just because and so much more. Its also great for guys or gals! I hope you'll give it a try!

How to: Card Fold for Halloween

I made this card in August for a swap and it got lost in the shuffle. Its such a cool and easy fold, that I wanted to share it with you today.

I call it the Triangle Flap fold. I used the Cauldron Bubble stamp set as well as the fun and funky halloween designer paper called Toil and Trouble. It has such awesome, bright and spooky colors with the perfect trick or treat images.

IMG_5787

I used several different patterns of the Toil and Trouble designer paper.

IMG_5758

Check out the fabulous Black Glitter ribbon... it has silver glitter sparkles in it. I also colored the ghosts with the Stampin' Blends alcohol markers in granny apple green and highland heather.

IMG_5786

I used the 2 1/4" and 2" circle punches as well as a few Faceted Dots on the card. The circle was only attached to the top flap.

IMG_5759

Here's how I made the card.

Granny Apple Green cardstock 8 1/2 x 11 piece

Cut it from top left corner to bottom right corner, diagonally with the Stampin Trimmer.

IMG_5740

You will end up with 2 triangles. We only need one of them for this card. The other one can also be used to make another card. The flap will just be on the opposite side.

IMG_5742

Next we will score this piece. Line up on the paper trimmer like so.. with top point on 4 1/4" and score.

IMG_5744

Then turn it and score it at 5 1/2" as shown.

IMG_5743

It will fold like this.

IMG_5746

Next, attach pieces of Toil and Trouble designer paper. Cut the designer paper at 4 x 5 1/4". Then you will cut it diagonally from left top corner to bottom right corner, just as we did with granny apple green cardstock.

IMG_5761

Here are all the fun patterns that I made. I attached the ribbon behind the circle with dimensionals

IMG_5765

Here's a bunch, ready to mail to my demonstrator friends.

IMG_5763

Hope you enjoyed this fun and unique card fold. It really is quite simple. Give it a try!
