How to: Unique Fold- Cauldron Bubble Bundle

One last cute Trick or Treat card before Halloween arrives, using the Cauldron Bubble Bundle. I've used this unique card fold a few times lately and we also did this card at my Card Class recently.

For instructions and measurements, see my previous blog post here.

For the most part there isn't much stamping on this card. The images all come from the Toil and Trouble designer series paper. The cat was die cut with the coordinating framelits.

IMG_5777

Its hard to tell from the photo, but the bats were punched out with the Spooky Bat punch from a piece of the new Black Foil sheets. They are slick and shiny!

I used the new Buffalo Plaid background stamp, inked in mango melody ink and stamped on mango melody cardstock for the inside of the card.

The New Swirls and Curls emboss folder was used on the bottom of the card. I used pumpkin pie cardstock and then rubbed a cajun craze inkpad across the swirls. I love the cool look and it really defines the swirls.

Here's a peek at the inside:

The bright colors of halloween are so fun to use... it really makes this card pop!

I've attached the gorgeous new Black Glitter Ribbon with a mini glue dot. This ribbon is not just for halloween. I've been using it on everything- Christmas cards included!

How to: Card Fold for Halloween

I made this card in August for a swap and it got lost in the shuffle. Its such a cool and easy fold, that I wanted to share it with you today.

I call it the Triangle Flap fold. I used the Cauldron Bubble stamp set as well as the fun and funky halloween designer paper called Toil and Trouble. It has such awesome, bright and spooky colors with the perfect trick or treat images.

IMG_5787

I used several different patterns of the Toil and Trouble designer paper.

IMG_5758

Check out the fabulous Black Glitter ribbon... it has silver glitter sparkles in it. I also colored the ghosts with the Stampin' Blends alcohol markers in granny apple green and highland heather.

IMG_5786

I used the 2 1/4" and 2" circle punches as well as a few Faceted Dots on the card. The circle was only attached to the top flap.

IMG_5759

Here's how I made the card.

Granny Apple Green cardstock 8 1/2 x 11 piece

Cut it from top left corner to bottom right corner, diagonally with the Stampin Trimmer.

IMG_5740

You will end up with 2 triangles. We only need one of them for this card. The other one can also be used to make another card. The flap will just be on the opposite side.

IMG_5742

Next we will score this piece. Line up on the paper trimmer like so.. with top point on 4 1/4" and score.

IMG_5744

Then turn it and score it at 5 1/2" as shown.

IMG_5743

It will fold like this.

IMG_5746

Next, attach pieces of Toil and Trouble designer paper. Cut the designer paper at 4 x 5 1/4". Then you will cut it diagonally from left top corner to bottom right corner, just as we did with granny apple green cardstock.

IMG_5761

Here are all the fun patterns that I made. I attached the ribbon behind the circle with dimensionals

IMG_5765

Here's a bunch, ready to mail to my demonstrator friends.

Hope you enjoyed this fun and unique card fold. It really is quite simple. Give it a try!

How To: Card Fold & Cute Halloween Greeting

Today I'm using the Cauldron Bubble stamp set and framelit dies from the Stampin Up Holiday Catalog. This is a super cute and fun halloween card with a unique style.

This fold is an adaption of what is called a "joy fold." I'll give measurements and instructions as I go.

IMG_5189

Check out the adorable Toil and Trouble designer paper. So many fun halloween designs. I used gorgeous grape and granny apple green cardstock as well as whisper white cardstock. I also used a 2 1/4" circle punch and the new Spooky Bats Punch.

Its hard to tell in the photo, but the bats were punched from the new Black Foil Sheets in the Holiday Catalog. Its so shiny and pretty!

IMG_5192

Here's the same card with a different background and Stampin Blends colors.

IMG_5191

The Stampin Blends that I used are highland heather, pumpkin pie, cajun craze, granny apple green, daffodil delight, smoky slate and basic black. I used the lighter of each color to color the entire image and then the darker of each color to shade around the edges. I used cajun craze as the 3rd shade color on the apron.

The cauldron is cut from a piece of the Toil and Trouble designer paper- so no coloring!

IMG_E5193

Here's the inside. The card is a standard 5 1/2 x 4 1/4  size. I cut 1" off the top of the bottom flap of the card.

The Toile and Trouble designer paper is 5 1/4 x 3 , granny apple green on the inside is 5 1/4 x 4."

The granny apple green flap on the left is 4 1/4 x 2." I scored this piece at the top at 1". The 1" flap is folded behind and under the larger piece of granny apple green. The whisper white cardstock is cut at 3" x 1 3/4."

I attached the gorgeous grape 2 1/4" circle with 2 dimensionals, making sure it over lapped the flap a tiny bit, so that it holds the flap down.

IMG_5190

Here's the same card with a different piece of the Toil and Trouble designer paper and the witch has black, grey and white hair.

This was such a fun card to create and I love the unique card fold that brings it all together.
