Stampin Blends

Valentine and a Christmas Card in "lights"

I'm sharing a sweet valentine card that we made at Card Class recently. Its made with the "Making Everyday Bright" stamp set and Christmas Bulb punch.

IMG_7321

I used the new petal pink cardstock as well as Stampin' Blends markers in petal pink, flirty flamingo and lovely lipstick. I colored the bulbs in with the lighter of the petal pink and flirty flamingo and shaded with the darker of each color. The tiny hearts are colored with the lovely lipstick Stampin' Blends.

IMG_7324

I punched out the petal pink bulb with the Christmas Bulb builder punch and popped it up with a mini dimensional.

IMG_7325

Here, you can see that I added the light rays in blushing bride ink, under the bulbs.

IMG_7322

A sweet and simple sentiment is stamped inside.

IMG_7320

I love the simplicity of this card and the short and sweet message for Valentines day.

This set will retire soon, so if you like it, get it before the end of December!

I also made a similar card at one of my classes, using the "Making Christmas Bright" stamp set (which coordinates with the Making Everyday Bright stamp set, above) and the Christmas Bulb punch. This set can be bundled with the punch for a 10% discount. This is a bright and cheery Christmas card.

IMG_7327

The background is stamped with the Buffalo Plaid background stamp in call me clover ink, onto call me clover cardstock. The card is granny apple green. The bulbs are stamped in lovely lipstick and mango melody inks.

IMG_7328

I really enjoyed designing and stamping these fun cards. One, soft and sweet the other bright and bold. Both adorable!

Both sets and the punch will retire soon. Get yours soon, if you don't have it already!

Stampin' Up! Country Home stamp set in Pastel Colors

I was playing around with my Country Home stamp set and decided to try some softer pastels colors to create a card today.

I used my Stampin Blends alcohol markers to color the image. I'll list the colors below under "product list."

IMG_5768

The Tin Tile emboss folder was used for the background. I used soft seafoam cardstock and a soft seafoam ink pad to swipe across the embossed image. I wanted it kind of splotchy.

IMG_5769

Here's a close up. I added pearls and sequins for a bit of shimmer, as well as the Chicken Wire element behind the main image.

IMG_5771

Here's a peek at the inside.

IMG_5772

I love the ease of coloring with the Stampin Blends alcohol markers. It makes creating so much fun.

IMG_5767

If you haven't decided on this set yet, I say, YES! Take the plunge and get those markers out and start coloring.

Thanks again for stopping by.

Triangle Flap Fold Card with Animal Outing

I'm sharing another card made with the fun fold that I shared in my last post. This time, I've used the adorable Animal Outing stamp set and suite. I made several of these cards with different Frames Elements embellishments. This one has the Leaf Ribbon and the Frames elements leaf and heart embellishments. I colored the heart with a real red Stampin Blends alcohol marker and the leaf spray with the old olive marker.

IMG_E4708

Here's another design with different elements. Notice the strip of circles at the bottom of the card above?

IMG_4713

Remember, when you cut the 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock in half diagonally, you can use the other half of the cardstock as well. It will just open in the opposite direction.

To read instructions on how to make this card- see my last post here:How To Triangle Flap Fold

IMG_4711

I attached the Leaf Ribbon with mini glue dots under the leaves. No coloring on this wreath, it looks good in its natural color.

IMG_4714

This one opens on the opposite side from the one above, because I used the other half of the diagonally cut cardstock.

IMG_4712

I've attached the wooden elements with multi purpose glue. It works perfectly! Check out the cute scallop element on the bottom of the card above. So cute!

IMG_4717

The Call Me Clover cardstock matches the Leaf ribbon exactly!

IMG_4718

This has got to be the cutest "safari" set I've ever seen- Animal Outing is adorable!

IMG_E4720

The whole suite coordinates like a dream.

IMG_E4709

Its such a fun set to use all year for many different occasions, like birthdays, valentines, anniversaries, thank you's,  just because and so much more. Its also great for guys or gals! I hope you'll give it a try!

Country Home in Blueberry and Mango- yum!

So, I thought I would step out of the box a little with some fresh vibrant colors using the Country Home stamp set. As you know this is my favorite fall set in the Stampin Up Holiday Catalog. I'm addicted to this set and don't want to put it down!

For this lovely card I used mango melody , blueberry bushel, blackberry bliss and whisper white cardstock. I guess I used a little scrap of old olive cardstock for the little tag, as well.

I love how these colors compliment each other.

IMG_5482

For the background I used the new Buffalo Check background stamp inked in blueberry bushel and stamped onto blueberry bushel cardstock. I love the country look of the Buffalo Check stamp- it reminds me of a cozy flannel shirt.

IMG_5476
Of course I had to use my Stampin Blends alcohol markers to color it in. I love how the markers glide like butta! They blend so beautifully. I used crumb cake, mango melody, night of navy, old olive and blackberry bliss markers. Always use a memento black ink pad to stamp your image when using the alcohol markers so they don't bleed.

IMG_5479

The smaller strip of mango melody cardstock was emobossed with the new Tin Tile emboss folder. Perfect match for this stamp set! A few Galvanized buttons were attached with glue dots and I also threaded them with our rustic linen thread.

IMG_5480
Don't forget to stamp the inside... don't you just love the vibrancy of the blueberry bushel ink? So gorgeous!

IMG_5477

The shiny silver piece is the new Chicken Wire embellishment sheets. It adds the perfect touch to this country card and plays off the buttons so nicely.

IMG_5475
If you look close you can see that I shaded the pussy willows with a tiny bit of the crumb cake light marker.

The whisper white cardstock was cut 2 1/4 x 3 inches and I always keep my image straight when I layer angled layers behind. It makes it easier to look at and the angled layers show more color and interest toward the focal point. The blackberry bliss and mango melody cardstock were cut at 2 1/2 x 3 1/4 each.

IMG_5478

The whisper white cardstock was attached over the card with stampin' dimensionals to pop it up a bit.

IMG_5481

So, how do you like these out of the box colors? I love experimenting with colors, there's always a new combination to discover.

Thank you for checking out my blog today.

Until the next time...

How To: Card Fold & Cute Halloween Greeting

Today I'm using the Cauldron Bubble stamp set and framelit dies from the Stampin Up Holiday Catalog. This is a super cute and fun halloween card with a unique style.

This fold is an adaption of what is called a "joy fold." I'll give measurements and instructions as I go.

IMG_5189

Check out the adorable Toil and Trouble designer paper. So many fun halloween designs. I used gorgeous grape and granny apple green cardstock as well as whisper white cardstock. I also used a 2 1/4" circle punch and the new Spooky Bats Punch.

Its hard to tell in the photo, but the bats were punched from the new Black Foil Sheets in the Holiday Catalog. Its so shiny and pretty!

IMG_5192

Here's the same card with a different background and Stampin Blends colors.

IMG_5191

The Stampin Blends that I used are highland heather, pumpkin pie, cajun craze, granny apple green, daffodil delight, smoky slate and basic black. I used the lighter of each color to color the entire image and then the darker of each color to shade around the edges. I used cajun craze as the 3rd shade color on the apron.

The cauldron is cut from a piece of the Toil and Trouble designer paper- so no coloring!

IMG_E5193

Here's the inside. The card is a standard 5 1/2 x 4 1/4  size. I cut 1" off the top of the bottom flap of the card.

The Toile and Trouble designer paper is 5 1/4 x 3 , granny apple green on the inside is 5 1/4 x 4."

The granny apple green flap on the left is 4 1/4 x 2." I scored this piece at the top at 1". The 1" flap is folded behind and under the larger piece of granny apple green. The whisper white cardstock is cut at 3" x 1 3/4."

I attached the gorgeous grape 2 1/4" circle with 2 dimensionals, making sure it over lapped the flap a tiny bit, so that it holds the flap down.

IMG_5190

Here's the same card with a different piece of the Toil and Trouble designer paper and the witch has black, grey and white hair.

This was such a fun card to create and I love the unique card fold that brings it all together.

Stampin' Up! Country Home stamp set

Are you ready for another beautiful card made with the charming Country Home stamp set? I adore this set. Its so easy to color with the Stampin' Blends alcohol markers or even the watercolor pencils or aqua painters. But, for now, I'm loving it with the Stampin' Blends.

I used some brighter colors of fall for this "thank you" card. Pool party and blackberry bliss are the main cardstock colors as well as whisper white. I also used a strip of designer paper from the Frosted Floral paper pack.

IMG_5243

The new Galvanized Metallic paper looks amazing embossed with the new Tin Tile emboss folder. I made the tin tile look more rustic and worn by rubbing my memento black ink pad across it. Then I buffed off any excess ink with a paper towel.

IMG_E5251

The blends colors are pool party, daffodil delight, highland heather, old olive, blackberry bliss and crumb cake. The crumb cake was used to shade the little puffs of cotton.

IMG_E5250

I also used a few silver metallic pearls to accent the thanks tag and the highland heather flower. An oval framelit from the Layering Oval Framelits collection frames the rustic pitcher, perfectly.

IMG_E5249

A strip of gorgeous grape striped ribbon ties it all together. I actually wrapped a piece of ribbon around the tin tile and then used another piece of ribbon to make the bow, which I attached with a mini glue dot.

IMG_5307

For the cool background, I used my new favorite Buffalo Check background stamp inked in pool party ink. I love these purples and blues and greens together with a tiny pop of yellow!

IMG_E5248

Here's a quick run down of the cardstock sizes: Blackberry Bliss 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 card.

Whisper white: 4 x 5 1/4, Pool Party: 3 3/4 x 5, Galvenized silver: 2x4, Frosted Floral designer paper: 1 1/4 x 3 3/4

This is definitely a set that I would recommend for making your fall, spring or even summer greeting cards!
